Back 25 years or so ago I saw one of those in Claremont NH at the Concord and Claremont RR shops that two Cat D17000 V-8 engines in it. A most interesting machine.

Yes it is. The Middletown & Hummelstown RR has another one that was built in 1941 for the US Army that they use.Thanks for watching.

So rather than put one twelve cylinder they used two sixes

Yes the engineer told me if one engine goes it will still be able to work in a pinch. It's sure is something you don.t see everyday. Thanks for watching
