Lexington Lab Band, Hindley Street Country Club and Leonid and Friends are hands down the 3 best cover bands in the world today. Seriously, check all of them out. They are all fantastic! They are such superb musicians and vocalists who genuinely love music and strive for perfection.
There is much respect between LLB and L&F. The two head guys of LLB (one of which was the lead singer of this tune) flew out and met L&F at their Arizona concert last fall.
My hubby just asked if I was listening to the real Chicago. Had to tell him it's not Chicago, he said it's almost impossible to tell the difference. The vocals are top notch!
@@jeffstumpf9129 That’s their goal - to sound as close to the original artist as possible. They definitely consider these songs tributes. My husband is the trumpet player, so I just had to add my two cents! 😁
I've been following them for about two years and every Month they take a step Up!! I.M.O Jessica back up and Lead singer is their best vocalist. She does a Great Ann Wilson. Thank LLB and Jeff!!
Jeff, this one was picked for you since you seem to love Leonid & Friends. I had heard a bunch of L&F stuff before I ran across this and it is really hard not to compare how each of these groups does Chicago. Mike (lead) has such a fantastic voice and the guy who handles Bill Champlin's part on this is also outstanding. To be honest I have a hard time figuring out who in L&F could have handled that as well as it is handled here.
The beauty of a song like this, Jeff, is that without forcing - it calls into being - consciousness - what the words the writer of the lyrics intended to evoke in us and then, when coupled with the beautifully balanced accompaniment of the music? Well - does what songs "from the heart" - tend to do to us unbidden - don't they now? LOL
Jeff, this band is America's version of Leonid and Friends. They have the horns, guitars, singers, keys, and drummers to match the songs they are doing. They've actually been on RUclips a little longer than Leonid & Friends and have an extensive catalog of tributes of all kinds of bands and singers. Check out their tributes of Steely Dan's "Peg," "Reelin in the Years", and "Josie". Lexington Lab Band has their own Kesina. Her name is Jessica and she can channel and replicate Ann Wilson on their Barracuda and Magic Man songs. Next is their flawless covers of the Eagles and Boston. Numerous songs by both groups. Check them out. You won't be disappointed!
You've not heard anything yet. These guys are phenomenal (edited for spelling. . .I'm a moron.)! If you get bored, check their version of "Walking in Memphis".
The Foxes and Fossils site has a rendition of that but it is really the predecessor group, The Mustangs. I don't think I'd heard that song before but often can't get it out of my head now. I've not heard the LLB version. I'll have to give it a listen but I am sure it is fantastic.
I don't think it's about comparing bands. These people are technically very good, without a doubt. But, in my opinion, this is a minor work of Chicago. Pretty, but minor. It is difficult to reach valid conclusions. If we go to other more charismatic songs (25 or 6 to 4, or Beginnings, for example) Lexington makes technically tight covers, but faded and without passion. I like this band, of course, but it doesn't excite me.
Agreed... there is a difference. Chicago on their first few albums is significantly more artistic than their 17 and 18 albums. This is a good pop ballad, but it is nothing like the others you mentioned.
It is not about who is better. It is about what they bring to the table for ear candy. Leonid & Friends, LLB and HSCC all give it their all and have fun doing it. I like certain songs by all. I saw Leonid & Friends live and yes that flat out blew me away😊

My absolute favorite band! between Leonid & Friends and LLB, you cannot go wrong!
Yay! Finally LLB! They are excellent! Lexington Lab Band and Leonid & Friends are the best! Check out their cover of "Run Like The Wind"!
Just listened to that, they’re so good with their covers.
My hubby just asked if I was listening to the real Chicago. Had to tell him it's not Chicago, he said it's almost impossible to tell the difference. The vocals are top notch!
If a cover doesn't bring anything new to it, why bother? This cover is more of a tribute.
So true!

You are so right Paisan. The bar has been set. Some might argue higher than the originals. And we benefit from it all. Bravo LLB, bravo Jeff!
These guys are good, they do Foreigner really good.
They do Heart, Hall & Oates, Pink Floyd and even Prince very well!

Very good
They do lots of excellent covers!

I think Danil and Vasily could handle this very well. Michael too, he’d be great with Danil.

LLB has SO many hits. Hundreds.
I've lived in Lexington KY my whole life and somehow have missed them. Very interesting.

I'm a fan of LLB and a bigger fan of Chicago. Great job!
Nicely done LLB!
LLB's always good, but this is one of their best. The two vocalists are a great match for the two vocalists on the original track.
🤍💛🧡💗💚💙💜🤎🖤✌
Listen to LLBs Eagles tribute. 🔥

These guys are good…but no comparison the Leonid and Friends. L&F blow these guys away.
I’m a huge L&F fan too. 😊
