Thanks kenny, this is a gem, I worked executive concert protection in detroit, and it's exciting to be there all day, I met Eddie at Joe louis arena 2004' reunion tour!! He relapsed there on cobo tequila, we partied alll night at a small Irish bar, they closed just to get messed up
I’m glad you made this into 4k hd. This is such a rare gem 💎 to savor for decades. To see Eddie so relaxed before the concert and see him playing other cover songs is phenomenal. Ed playing Led Zep shocked me. This guy was one of the best guitarists in the history of music and he also was a great keyboard player which not many people knew. He died too young from cancer. You will be missed Ed. R.I.P. Thanks Ken for this major upgrade in 4k🔥🔥😃✌️😊🙌👍👑👑👑

Spent many summer years at Silver. 10 cents on RTS to ride from 19th ward, Bulls head, Plymouth, Main, St. Paul, Norton, Remington. I was at this show, Sammy was new to VH. Was getting used to him covering DLR. Not a great show, but OK....
All those old style can lights with the gel color cover over them. Doesn’t look like they had any moving lights except for the spot lights. Everything was fixed in one spot and only a single color 19:12 . Those things were HOT too. That’s pretty much ancient technology now. I thought they had moving lighting at this time. The Pink Floyd tour a year or so later had all the moving and programmable color changing lights. Thats alot of lights. Lighting technology has advanced so much since then. They can do so much more with a lot less lights now, and being LED they’re not as hot. Standing under those lights was almost like being French fries under heating bulbs.
No he wasn’t. Dave was obnoxious. They all seem so much happier during interviews with Sammy compared to Dave. Sammy’s a better singer, musician and an all around better guy than Dave. Dave started out pretty cool in the early years but his ego got out of control along with his mouth. I think Van Halen is the only band that’s ever gotten better with a new lead singer.
