Celina/ Wapakoneta, Ohio Tornado Outbreak (3-14-24)

  • On March 14, 2024 there was a slight risk of severe storms across Indiana and into western Ohio. That morning we had a line of storms push through the region and afterward created a capping inversion. Later that afternoon the atmosphere had recovered substantially and it became evident that there was severe weather brewing. Around 5pm we began to witness the first signs of the cap breaking north of Farmland, Indiana. Supercells began exploding across central Indiana and moving quickly east toward Ohio. Once the supercells made it to the border well that’s when the show got started.

I don't mind talking but the repeated screaming some do just drives me insane, we all can see it is right there and big we don't need you to scream it at us ten times. Still one hell of a meteorologist though.

@@tryingnot Same. Talking is fine, but when they start acting like Reed Timmer I just mute the video. It's like if a firefighter were to scream "IT'S A FIRE! IT'S A BIIIIIIIG FIRE LOOK AT ALL THAT SMOKE!!!" on his 30th house fire. Makes you really start to wonder what's going on behind the lens when they're like that.

I live in Urbana Ohio. The wife and I were watching Newscenter7 out of Dayton. They kept saying thunderstorm warning but treat this as a tornado warning and seek shelter now. They kept saying these are not normal storms. They was right. They were going from nothing to something quickly. The one came out of Indiana hitting darke county in Ohio and Miami county in Ohio. It lifted just before Piqua Ohio and followed st rt 36. We took shelter and they actually said our street name as being in the path. We heard roaring sound and got lots of rain lighting and hail. This tornado pretty much followed 36 from Indiana. It would drop do damage then lift. We was fortunate that it missed us. I had friends and family impacted in Miami county and up around Indian lake. Ohio is getting hit more and more by tornadoes, strong tornadoes. They said the one i was talking about had a stove pipe tornado in it. During the outbreak on Mermorial Day a few years ago we was in Piqua and the storms was around us. A small tornado hit Troy in January a few years ago we was just north of it. Near Springfield Ohio a month ago got hit, now this outbreak.

In the last few years eastern PA (Philly metro) has seen more confirmed tornados up to EF2 than I remember ever hearing about or seeing the prior 35 years.. I’m sure OHIO is the same, no one wakes up thinking this is in their daily plans.. Also no yelling no screaming no flipping the camera around 10000 time.. just hearing Mother Nature!

Especially knowing roots roads interstates of all directions you can escape is not easy I BET. 👍🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪
