I am up to 8:44 and so far youre right. No car should ever have been made with that dome/door selector. it's annoying on other vehicles i have. I have a 2003 superduty so I'm going to pull mine and check it out too.
Sorry if I missed part of the video, but what made you choose to set the driver side button turn on all the interior lights? Because the Ex already has a turn dial by the headlight switch that when flipped all the way up, turns on all interior lights... I'm sure even with swapping the dash, a 80-10 style headlight switch has the exact same functionality, so wouldn't it just work the same? If you used a Steel 6.7 style dash, I'm sure you coulda rugged a button up aswell. Then the driver lamp would retain its single use functionality
Hey, I got a 2001 Ford excursion XLT 2WD 5.4L V8. I went to change the dome lights in the interior. However,when I replaced them electrical strip that went between the bulb assembly and the dome assembly was not connected on either side. I immediate lost power windows and interior lights except for dash and exterior lights. I spent time researching that part and had no success. Also unrelated, my power locks on all doors work. However, it’s as if they are not getting enough juice to fully lock or unlock. If you good any advice it would be appreciated. Thanks!
Agreed, both of those flip down flaps are totally worthless and the dome light switches are equally junk. I have been wanting to do something custom with the space those 2 flaps occupy - but what would work well there other than some kind of flip down screen? 🤷🏻♂️
Question why were those green wires had to be switch was the harnes replace or beacause u did that modification. If somone can help me out that will be grate

I've been trying to think of something to do with those spaces as well. My sunglasses holder is still intact, but barely.

Is there a way to bypass the door sensors? I have a bad one somewhere and i had to pull all the bulbs to keep the light from staying on constantly.
They're easy to fix or replace. Just did it the other day on mine. Sensor was like $8, need a t25 bit to undo the door latch.
