Pull the blade through 🧲➕once to magnetise. Pull and push the blade through 🧲➖three times to de-magnetise.
Works every time. Sometimes the screw gets magnetised by the screwdriver.

This tool does the job if the user would understand magnetism on the level of an fifth-grader. The screwdriver needs to be pulled over the tool in a certain direction on the designated side.

Yes, it's sad. The purpose of the magnetization of a screwdriver is to hold the screw at its tip so as to facilitate its insertion into its location.
