Join us for part 1 of our road trip to Sweet Home Chicago! We travel through Nebraska and Iowa, get pulled over by an airplane, and make it to Anthony’s hometown in Illinois.
I invented the Italian Beef pizza back in 2006ish while working at a bar n grill. People said I was crazy and it sounded disgusting until one day the manager tried it and the rest is history 🎉
Ellys food has always been solid! I think the last time we had it, was the last the day we left Illinois (15 years ago!). Out of all the things that changed, that liqour store not being there is the hardest to see lol. One of those stores where you can smell it before even walking into it, situations. Lol.
@SeekingVegasSunrise I have court down the street at 60/83 8x a year. It seemed the liquor store disappeared overnight. Another victim to Binny's probably. Elly's was closed about 1 year ago. Don’t know if it was a fire in the kitchen or a remodeling. Been busy since reopening.
Kristina and I lived in the apartments 2 blocks north of the Metra station for years. Great little town. We were gonna go to the Picnic Basket, but I forgot how the parking was a pain in the ass on a Friday afternoon noon was lol. I still miss the old Mickey Finns spot 😢. Question for ya, is the Island still there (small bar like behind the buildings, like its in the middle of a parking lot)? Thanks for watching!

OMG! That's the Elly's pancake house on Rte 60/ Townline rd & 45 in Mundelein. The liquor store closed 4-5 years ago I think.
