Hello, Im ian steel. I wanna give credit to dapper sheep for this great list. The deck is definitely solid this format. If you have questions ill attempt to anwser them.
@@AidoStar If I understand the deck correctly, Neutralization Zone is just for that, you leave it a sitting duck unable to attack, but if there's vacuum or they replace the stadium and they KO the Seaking there's also Basculegion to do a bunch of damage with no energy and get the ones in the discard pile back in the deck.
@AidoStar you basically need to take the first 2 prize ko. If they struggle to get up more than one hands you can gust the one they're trying to setup. As long as you don't let them take more than 2 knockouts with hands you should win the game.

One more key part of the deck: the Finneon has Oceanic Accompaniment, which gives you energy acceleration onto any pokemon with the Swim Freely attack, like this Seaking. Without the energy acceleration, this deck wouldn't work.
Thoughts on a similar build using finneon, seadra/kingdra EX, and relacanth? Old fish would give king swim freely so you can dump energies. Would need a new draw/search engine without thwacky. You would not need to go as hard with energies since king pump does a LOT more damage, but you can still use the seadra jet attack to snipe the bench.
@@eminesbr I know that. My question was what is it useful for in this deck specifically. In what scenarios does it come up where I would play a thorton over any other card? Even if you need to get a goldeen back from the discard isn't that what lana's aid is for? What situation would have me pick thorton over a Lana's aid or night stretcher?
@ChrisBeverly but thorton doesn't work unless you switch basic for basic, right? You can't switch seaking for a discarded goldeen. In that scenario, it's better to just play switch on a seaking to a goldeen then manually retreat.
@humourlessjester3584 thorton is for when any important pokemon have been kyurem'ed or dragapult'ed. You can use thoron to get a goldeen back so you can still attack with seaking that turn. (I played the deck, and the person who made this list told me this was thortons use case)
This deck looks super fun to play! It got me thinking if it could be possible to replace the Pidgeot ex engine some decks run (ehm, Dragapult lol) with Festival Lead + Thwackey.
it's not really a replacement for pidgeot ex. you are taking up extra bench slot for the same thing. rare candy+pidgey+ex for grookey+thwacky+goldeen translates pretty well untill you remember you NEED goldeen in the active to activate boom boom meaning you need to constantly switch/retreat/getting KO'd. It absolutely wouldn't work with dragapult (you still want the candy there anyways)+ it's not expecting to get KO'd constantly.
I don't know. Once you evolve your Goldeen, you lose that ability. Thwackey can only work with the Goldeen, not the Seaking. They should invent a Pokémon with an Ability that allows your pre-evolved forms use their Abilities and give us a Seaking ex! Just not give Seaking any OP attacks or your attacking twice with something broken AF.
I have seen this list come up in japan and i have played it. I will say that it is pretty good, but your dragapult/regidrago matchup is quite bad. If your local meta or tournament meta doesn’t have these 2 decks dominating, then this Seaking deck will do pretty well.
@@aS__Spencer it’s pult and drago matchup aren’t that bad they have trouble setting up attackers every turn and they don’t get multiple prize ko every single turn also manaphy is just better because it helps the drago to use the vstar and ko three pokemon or they don’t ko three pokemon and right after they ko with either of those just go for a ko onto it

I really miss the deck list at the end because I did really enjoy being able to see the final list even if it's just shrunk or something in the corner but still readable, so I don't have to search for it in the beginning if I want to make the list. Just letting you know if this comment ever actually gets read. (P.S. I don't want to be rude in this if this does get seen. I don't want this to be taken as a harsh comment. I want to be kind and just let the editor, or anyone know I did prefer the deck list at the end of the video.)
I saw this list on limitless and immediately copied it; still waiting on a few final cards to play it in live since I dont have infinite credits like everyone else :(
the deck seems super cool. It's very squishy but it takes advantage of a lot of my favorite cards like basculin, reversal, and Thorton. I wish there was space for a Rabscara or another reversal for those bigger OTK. Maybe devolution or another gust card would be good but with so many energy recovery you also attack plenty.

Trade a basic pokémon with Basic pokémon in your discard

Fuck yeah Seaking
This deck loses so hard to lost box due to sableye destroying the weak bench. However, now you can counter lost box with Kyurem as a one off tech lol.
Or just add a Jirachi on the deck, Jirachi has fallen off but it's still useful in the lost box match up
Who's playing lost box right now?
No one is playing lost anything lol it's just a stupid pick considering one pokemon can wreck your whole line up for 1 energy 😊
Lost Box? Have you seen that deck anywhere recently? Thank heavens that new Kyurem buried that deck alive. I hope it stays that way until rotation.
Lost box is dead
Swim Freely decks are just way too good once they start popping off
I stopped playing Seaking because of Dragapult. Unaure of this changes that lol.
