In this video, we will discuss how to clean mold off leather. It's an easy four step process to remove any mildew on the surface of your shoes, boots, furniture,coats, belts, etc.
Expensive leather cleaners don't need to be bought to perform this method. Mold on leather can be caused by high humidity in the home. To resolve the issue, a dehumidifier may need to be installed.

Excellent results! I used a 50/50 rubbing alcohol/filtered water solution on a black leather jacket (a bit abused) and on a laptop bag that were both completely covered in mold. The solution removes the mold immediately (I did an initial application inside in poor light) and the following day I removed a few spots that I missed outside in sunlight. There is no visible mold left on either item. The alcohol probably dries out the leather a bit. My jacket was looking dry anyway as it had been wet on many occasions and was highly in need of a leather restoration product. Next I will probably dry clean the inside fabric, then restore the oils. I am very satisfied with this process. Thanks.
Curious why you didn't mention anything about applying leather conditioner after all the cleaning.
what is denatured alcohol ?

3 I did everything else this bloke suggests. It works.
Then, if boots give them a good serving of boot polish. For coates and trousers, use “Leatherphane”. To coat the leather. This is a liquid specifically designed to keep all leather in good condition, including car leather. Hang the coat/trousers to dry. If after 24 hours the leather does not feel soft and supple give the garment another coat of Leatherphane. I have been using Leatherphane for 30 years. It is better than leather wax or Dubbin because the liquid is absorbed into the leather. The waxes can dry and cause the leather garment to crack. If you keep you leathers in a dry, well ventilated cupboard, mold will not be a problem

Must say i just did this to some old leather holsters and it worked so good after i let it dry i sprayed it with ballistol to preserve the leather

Denatured Alcohol?
I wanted to remove the musty odor from a pair of shoes. There was no mold, just a musty odor. First I sprayed them with Lysol. Didn't work. Then I tried wiping them down with vinegar. Didn't work. Tried leaving baking soda wrapped in paper towels in the shoes days at a time. Didn't work. Tried leaving them in a sunny window. Didn't work. Finally wiped them down with straight 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol, inside and out. The odor is still there somewhat.
Try using vodka as it’s an excellent odor remover.
@@scarletsmom2643 I did that too. Didn't work, but there was a lot of vodka left after treating the shoes, so I drank it.
Try charcoal it worked for me!
@@kimsayrawr21 I paid $25 for the shoes. I gave up on them and donated them to the Goodwill.
You need to use vinegar. Just dampen a cloth in distilled white vinegar and wipe it down, then let it air dry.

Vinegar mix didn't work am trying bleach only cause to these shoes expensive to let go
what about hydrogen peroxide. I've heard it works safer than bleach.

Hell nah
Technicaly it would still work, given that bleach is a fungicide, but you might want to consider what it would do to your leather piece
No bleach!

Vinegar kills mold. Use fifty fifty water and vinegar.
