Purcell deserves to be as famous as Mozart. This performance amply demonstrates why.
As a French music student, I am specializing in baroque analysis. And what a composer Purcell was !
I came here for the Rondeau, but this entire suite has captured me❤️
I'm up at 3:00am and the streaming service I have just played it!
@TheMikester307 Wow! Did you make a recording of it? I would love to see it😊❤️
@@magnifyoparah2402 Nope! But's it on the same site that creates "Composer's Datebook."
Yes ! What a marvelous rendition. Truly lovely
@@Darkboy2525 indeed
Even after 1 year, it still feels like yesterday 🥹
It is as if Henry Purcell supervised and rehearsed with you all. You all are exceptional!!!❤️
I love this performance, the tempo is spot on! And the quality of the recording! Absolutely fantastic!
The Rondeau gives me goosebumps - surely among the most brilliant of all his brilliant works. I too encountered it on 'Young Persons Guide' and as I never forget any music I hear, it haunted me until I came to know Purcell and the original work.
Ouverture à la Française is grandiose. Veiled in a dusky obscure tragic colorite.
purcell is marvelous his music gets to the heart
Henry Purcell is great and
immortal England composer.
It is excellent and brilliant
performance of masterpiece.
Benjamin Britten
The young person's guide
to the orchestra..
12:28 "Hole in the Wall"! Thanks for posting. I grew up on "Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra" not knowing that Henry Purcell was so much more than that one rondeau. I love all of his music.
I played selections from Abdelazar in a recorder ensemble, but it didn't include the Hornpipe. So delightfully surprised to recognize the fiddle tune "Hole in the Wall" that I learned over 40 years ago and never knew it was Purcell. Also delighted that someone else knows it as "Hole in the Wall!"
These people play with so much passion. Wonderful performance
Such a great song. I'm playing it at my highschool orchestra concert next week.
IT'S A PIECE NOT A SONG!!!
What a dynamic, engrossing performance! Thank you!
Lordy this is fantastic, you could pass for an English chamber orchestra and this coming from a Brit 👍👍👍
OMG that rondeau, one of the things I remember the most from the 2005 version of Pride & Prejudice...
English music at its very, very best.
Dinlemekten bıkmıyorum

Sublime.

Pretty! ❤❤👍👍👏👏
so beautiful!!!!
@@CrestedbuttemusicfestivalOrg thank you so very much! FIrst time in a long time i havent had a nightmare after listening to this. Your music is an absolute God send. May God bless you and your loved ones!
Just music.🎉

Love the rondeau part!
What a genius
Simplemente hermoso!!!
You blew the top of my head clean off. Thanks a bunch.
magnifique ! merci pour cette decouverte
you are my choise
Bravissimo!
Everybody talks about Rondeau, and here I am beeing in love with Overture
Let's be honest though, every part of it is amazing
Absolutely right
I think the final two Airs have far surpassed the Rondeau. And the Overture. But, I must admit, the second part of the Overture is really rather beautiful.
French overtures FTW!
Purcell has something for everybody!
I came here wanting to know about Abdelazer. It was a play that nobody performs any more. Only this music survives.
From the description of the plot it would not be enjoyed by modern audiences. Philip of Spain and his struggles with the Moors who had occupied his country, I think.
Beautiful!
@@CrestedbuttemusicfestivalOrg You won't believe it but I am listening to it right now! You must be reading my mind.
I can't find anywhere over the net the names of the musicians, anybody can help me, please? Thanks !
Why do they almost never show the cellos?
Very nice.
👍
Rondeau 4:12
Benjamin Britten brought me here
Estoy tocando esta obra en orquesta xd
Por cierto excelente trabajo👌
Yo también me lo mandaron de orquesta
superb
I don't even know which one I prefer😍

im learning how to play minuet on the piano
the vid quality and sound is also very good
@@CrestedbuttemusicfestivalOrg thanks
I can barely hear the harpsichord, looks like a mic issue?
Bravo! Excelente! Debería tener más likes!
Awesome. Purcell best UK baroque so above Haendel. Miles away
why transpose.?
Nice to meet the last few people who enjoy English culture.
Is there any legal copyright version of abdelazar suite?
Purcell died in 1695. It's unlikely his estate will come after you for copyright infringement.

" Un soir de demi brûme à Londres..."
What a delightful music and loveable performance! Only today I came to know something about the fascinating female writer and poet Aphra Behn who wrote the play “Abdelazer”. This is the poem that brought me here to my utmost pleasure! :

Why so much vibrato? 😢
To make the sound more full and vibrant
Also that was the style of playing when this piece came out
Rondeau ftw.
