    I have switched to making millet dishes since about 2 years. One can make a dish with single type of millet or mixed millets. Like it is said here, start with one type and get your digestive system used to it.
    Best way to incorporate is to start with millet soups or ganjis. Then we can make many other dishes like kichdi, bisibelbath, curd rice dosa idli etc.
    Not all dishes made out of millets will taste good. We have to select some or get used to differe taste. We have been a ragi growing abd ragi eating family always. As children, we also used to eat saamai and navane. So it was a little easy for me to adjust.
    In my opinion, switching to millets is only one adjustment in the journey of weight loss. That by itslef won't help much. Millets will help us to eliminate or reduce eating simple carbohydrates. With that, we have to give up sweets and fried stuff, quite mercilessly. And include plenty of vegetables for fibre and natural protein in our diet. Plus some consistent exercise, even if just daily walking.
    With the above adjustments i was able to lose 34 kgs in about 18 months. But thereafter it is not budging. In fact, it is fluctuating a bit.
    Still I would suggest to go for millets any day.

      Millets plus exercise will help you manage weight. Thank you for talking your heart out about millets here. It ll be useful to other viewers too. Punjabis and North Indians find a little tough to incorporate millets in our diet as we have grown up eating chapatis and parathas alone. Millet ambali is a welcome treat
