- Bubba Sparxxx came through for his first-ever VladTV interview, and he started off by speaking to Shawn Prez about growing up in rural Georgia and being exposed to hip-hop through a friend and falling in love. He then detailed how he excelled in football and played for a short stint in college before moving to Athens, Georgia, where he started taking music seriously. During the conversation, Bubba explained how he caught the attention of Interscope Records' Jimmy Iovine, which he pointed out came along after Eminem signed with the label. Bubba also detailed working with Timbaland on his huge hit "Ugly," his first album going platinum, and working with Justin Timberlake. From there, Bubba spoke about having a snowmobile accident that left him hospitalized, and Bubba added that it led to an addiction to pain medication. Bubba then detailed his journey to sobriety, which he said led to some setbacks in his music career after the huge success of "Ms. New Booty." To hear more, including Bubba speaking about Eminem dissing him on "G.O.A.T.," hit the full interview above.

Feels like dude wasn’t even really listening. Asking him questions that he had just given the answers too. Saying hip hop was his first love after he clearly stated football was his first love. He said Paul Walls full name when talking about all that. Bubba is the man
Bubba is legit solid guy. Very upfront and speaks his story good, bad or indifferent. Salute to Bubba.💯🔥
"Dark Days, Bright Nights" was/is an amazing album. One of my favs of all time! It was one of those albums you could just let it play all the way through. No skipping songs. It stayed in my CD slot in my ride for like 6 months straight. He is truly the Godfather of country rap! All these out here now need to Bow Down 🐐🎤🔥💯
shoo u rittee

yeah, right! shoulda gone triple platinum every track was a banger. cant't belive how much it was slept on... thats hiphop tho...!
No doubt!!
Thank you Vlad. Most underrated, understated MC. Followed Bubba’s career from the beginning being an international hip hop nerd from the UK. Big respect and all love to Mr Mathis. ♥️🙏🏼
Facts!!
Nah..he's better today..wasnt digging back then but he's good now..but the times have changed unfortunately for him!
👊🏽
“Deliverance” is one of the greatest albums ever
I remember when I copped it, and to this day(Deontay Wilder voice) I ain’t heard nothin like it. It’s a complete utter classic and it bothers me that it’s so criminally slept on…
I ain’t watch the interview yet I just came to comment bubba sparxx was gas when I was growing up 🔥🔥🔥
That's love to see people love Bubba more than just one white Marshall...
Bubba is clearly a very intelligent guy I like the fact that hes willing to admit his faults and Take accountability for his life ,good and bad ! dope benefit
Love Bubba. Living legend for country rap fans. Pioneer. So thankful he’s still rapping because I listen to it all for decades now. It’s crack to me. He’s truly skilled n I know he’s still making bangers for white country folks.
I’m half country boy on a ranch with horses n half trailer park on the rougher side of town so I relate.
@@briansnyder5596we definitely need people like bubba us White fools can relate to. Jelly, yelawolf, Calhoun, etc
Dude is, was, and always will be dope as fuck. That first album is up there with all the classics in my eyes. I’m always checking for music from him.
I feel like "Deliverance" has been ringing at the back of my head...for the last 15 years straight.
Much more respect for bubba after hearing this interview .. dude is humble AF and speaks that real talk about addiction
Patiently waited on this. DELIVERANCE WAS A CLASSIC ALBUM
Deliverance is a classic album. So underrated.
I love the bubba Sparks interview, thanks Vlad you are the GOAT in this business
Respect for this man
Props to Bubba. I always liked him and Em. Agree with everything he saying.
White guts white wall tires. Bubba had the Hardest verse on the whole dungeon family album. That’s saying something.
Now come on now champ. Did you forget about Ceelo’s verse
@@JniceStroketwice there’s a signature wood grain steering wheel such as yours but oh my god what’s harder are the hard wood floors. Ceelo did snap. Lol u might have a solid argument fr!
Ceelo’s verse was supreme on White Gutz…no comparison.
Dope interview, glad bubba doing well
He came up to lil ol Port Angeles WA.. 80 miles west of seattle..never thought..good show!
"Don't I look extra slick in this Nautica? Just think, it was you that she bought it fa." Always liked Bubba
Bubba’s jumped on Archie’s “We Ready” and made it perfect!
Dam this was a GREAT INTERVIEW!!!! This dude still so real and unproblematic! Honest about his everything… Man Bubba had it lit in my time hahahaha wish him and Tim and everybody else give us a show or song, lol they were so damn good and fun! BUT HIS MUSIC WAS FIRE!!!! All of it
HUGE FAN, Most humble dude in Hip Hop. Thanks for the interview.
I remember when your songs came out… you gave southerners a new sense of pride in our culture cause you’re right, back then, there was a certain stigma about the south.
And from one recovering opiate addict to another, I appreciate your story, your struggle and your honesty. Recovery is not an easy road. ❤
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. Psalm 34:18
Bubba is def an underrated rapper, payed his dues and should be considered amongst the best lyricist cuz homie can def put words together down to the syllables just like a Royce or an em or a buddens. 💯
I feel like Vlad himself would asked all the right questions, with the right approach...and made this interview legendary. Alotta missing vital information with this great opportunity to have Bubba tell his story. Regardless, it is am exciting interview 🤝🏾
Favorite interview of the year
Bubba go hard mane
Deliverance is a dope album
He's spitting the truth we're from different sides of America and that's the exact same way I fell in love with hip-hop
DOPE and TRULY KIND words from Eminem 🙏🏽👑💪🏾💐.🔥🔥🔥.
When Bubba came out, he had the halls of my HS in debating if he was better than Eminem. I swear, to this day, Bubba has Em beat
Always been a dope rapper right from the start.
and lyrics to deliverance were clever af.
this has just given me a sht ton more respect for the dude, glad to see him still making music after just hearing everything he been thro
Tbh before this video I only knew about miss new booty. After doing my research and listening to his joints with Timbaland I had no idea he was so 🔥 and hearing about Bubba being in recovery I have gained huge respect🫡
And they never mention his third album. Which i think was the best. The Charm
Lived in lagrange GA for 6 years love you Bubba you helped me in alot of ways bro bless you dog
Great interview good to see bubba doing good should have a better career he was always a solid brother
Always loved Bubba Sparks
The difference between Bubba and Eminem Bubba was country white rapper Eminem was urban.. Bubba kept it so real in his career about poor country folks in Georgia a lot ppl don't know about
Thoroughly enjoyed this interview
Bubba, Paul Wall, El P, Cage and Eminem top 5 white rappers in no particular order
Been rockin with Bubba for years
Bubba Sparxxx is a Southern Legend for real
His first album was bumping. Good interview vlad
I have to apologize to Vlad and Shane because when Vlad first started letting other people(Shane) do interviews I made a comment about me probably missing out on some great because I didn’t want to hear no one but Vlad doing the interviews and I couldn’t get
Jiggy with anyone else voice doing them, but I have to say I’m sorry for even thinking that Because Shane is a great interviewer and I love the guy doing his thing.
Big Bubba
Hey man say man I didn't know he waz from T. R. A. P. COUNTY my boi I'm in Columbus Georgia come on vacation leave on probation.. keep bringing it my boi
Carver class of ‘95 here 🙋🏽♀️. I heard crime in Columbus is crazy now smh
@@wkinprgrss8229 shi off the chain now young people not hustling they Killin they calling Columbus killubus Shi wicked fam
@@Art-mq5xx Not killumbus that’s a damn shame! My best memories in life are from Columbus in the 90s 😢. Stay safe I probably know your people!
Ugly & Deliverance was Classic’s
This yt country boy was dope. I fw this dudes music. Seems like a stand up kat too.
Bubba Sparxxx is a real one 💯✊🔥
Lagrange GA never heard of the place until I moved to Atlanta and I got a job with FedEx and my first station was in Lagrange about 10 minutes off highway 85. He’s right it’s about 50% black 50% white
I loved hearing Bubba quote Jay: “get a grip bitch that’s how I get thru life” 👏🏾
One of the best STILL doing it
I love timbo. But it woulda been crazy if bubba and lil jon got together for an album during that crunk era
This woulda altered history 🔥
I’m rooting for him. Thought he was dope and didn’t understand why he just vanished. This def gave insight. He should just continue work on himself and contribute to culture with his work. I truly believe him working with ppl like DJ Premier, Hit-Boy or Alchemist would give him his spark back (no pun intended). Maybe even look to work with ppl like Roc Marciano, 38 Spesh or Griselda. I really believe he has an audience in that lane if he works how he says he needs to.
Country music is the biggest genre right now. Rap is in the downtrend. I think for the first time time in history a record number of the top charting songs were all country.
Bubba could see a revival or even just get a new bag working with Jelly roll or someone in that lane.
when you doing the drugs you do not pay attention to all the things around you but when you get clean you pay attention to more and you realize that it is easier to be high and not worry about it the addiction is not just the drugs that take a toll on you your brain will stress you more than anything and Bubba has that mind that he will dwell on everything so I get it and I have been clean 16 years and still get down and want to get high so I totally get the stress he is dealing with to anyone going through it keep your head clear of that bad shit
_Salute to Bubba. I've also done an album with that name, only I spelled it Dark Daze, Bright Knights._
Love this!!!
So weird I was just listening to Deliverance💯
I need them shades 😎
Met him at at meet n great in Charlotte Nc gave me a drop and took a cool pic real cool dude down to earth
Bubba Sparxxx ! It’s been a long time !
Paul Wall's twin bro from Georgia😂.Would be krazy of Bubba&Paul Wall did a joint album🤔
Shout out to Minnesota, and there is definitely African American and other nationalities one hr outside of Minneapolis, I live 1 west of Minneapolis and it's majority white but there's Hispanic and African peeps here, just remember love is the meaning of life, and we all need to love everyone wholeheartedly all the time.
Everybody was rapping ice ice baby in the 90's.🤣
I live in Tampa and I didn’t know that he lived here
They disrespected the fuck out of him by not having Vlad do it… if he was black he would have… 2be O boy just admitted he didn’t even want to talk to him in the first place smh
Naw I remember bro came with the song ugly he killed it and timbo
LG!!! Bubba we got your back!
Great interview. This interviewee is a lot better than Vlad
Damn! That's crazy i live in lagrange ga....
It's amazing how little these interviewers, whether it's Vlad or Shawn, listen to the answers given by the people they are talking to. Bubba answers the question about realizing he's addicted and Shawn's next question was something Bubba had JUST talked about. I would be like are these a-holes even listening to me???
lol righhhhht ugh
Bubba had some hits
That comein around is the Shizznizzle !!!
Bubba got game
Great fucking interview!
True Grinder Dt Go On Champs Baby Bubba
Yo he speaks well
Amen bubba Sparxxx 🙏🙏 Luv brother ✊🤜🤛 stay calm clear clean and collected hear me nah ? ! We felt ya pain especially when it comes to addiction mann the devil is very real an cunning like u say the best lie devil ever has told is that he doesn't exist!!🙏🙏🙅🏻♂️🙅🏻♂️🔥🎯💯💯💯💯💯
💯💯Biggest lie that the devil has told is that he aint real
But he is ! He has demons just like GOD has Angels 💯🎯
What about the gathering of the juggalos incident I remember after that I didn't see much of him
I wonder if there is an animosity towards Eminem and vice versa
It kinda sounds like just a little slight bit towards Em from Bubba. Lol, he sure keeps kicking Em's name up and making comparisons. But hats off to both. Em on another level though.
Na it’s all luv between them
Im from Michigan...how the hell you flip a snowmobile on a frozen lake??😳😳...how?
I woulda liked for him to spit the first rhyme he made and I also woulda liked to know how he got the name bubba sparx. Vlad woulda took care of those. Just sayin🤷🏾♂️
Where He Got His Name His Whie Daddy Big Bubba Hang A Ninja 🥷
I wish Bubba would've done a colab with Eric the Midget.
Vlad choppin up videos like this where super deep stuff like addiction is spoken on in real terms is WHACK. That's not just the old school TV way to do things it's a disservice to the artist, a slap in the face to real internet kids that're still left over tht fk with YT at all etc etc etc
Buddy is Long Winded 💨
DIRTY SOUTH/ NU SOUTH💪🏾
This man has 2 distinct voices....now I see what it is, ...that ex wife ...nm
why would Ralph Lauren or Polo cut a check for yall if you gonna buy his clothes anyway????
It’s getting UGLY, in here
Opening of the interview was weird. Not sure why it had to be made a point that black people started hip hop and pressure bubba to thank them. Have blacks ever been interviewed while partaking in a White art form and been encouraged to show homage or thank Whites for the culture?
Damn he didn't say shit about dirty Ken Carlos 😂
(lowdown & Dirty damn)
I feel like I already left this comment when I watched this the first time but here it goes again. I love Bubba, but why is it that nobody gives Everlast/HOP their due when it comes to being white rappers in the early 90s? Really, Everlast first album before HOP was the late 80s. It didn't go from Vanilla Ice to Em with no white guys in between. Give House of Pain their due, damn it!
House of pain not white
Poor introduction but hellava interview. I always wanted to know what happened to my Man.!?
You stayed on his addiction. Get off his dickShawn..!
Take a shot everytime he says …kno what I’m sayin
Smh🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️ wth? ....yea he got in at the right time wit da right ppl. ...because it's mad brothers & sisters that have paid way more dues than Bubba, & still ain't nowhere in the history books...
He said it on Ugly “ I ain’t choose to rhyme, rhymin chose me”
I never understood catering to strippers! In Detroit, it's trickin if you paid for it! It's not the money, it's the principle! Make it rain on Me!
Prez: "Uhhhhh!"
I want that 83 year old bubba amblum.
Great interview although i have to say. Shane been disrespectfull a couple times
