    One of my favorite quotes about lyrics from Till Lindemann:
    "To explain the lyrics would be to take away the whole attraction and afterwards perhaps the fans would even be disappointed. I would rather leave things in this area untouched so that everyone can bring their own interpretation and their own feeling to it."
    Till Lindemann

    First time I read the translated lyrics while listening to the audio I got quite emotional. For me it was the lyrics “a man only cries when his mother dies” and “you should be ashamed of yourself”. I heard them with the deep open B chord of the guitars and I started tearing up.

    Men are expected to be everything, all the time. Not possible. To me being able to cry is a sign of strength - a soul intact. The opposite, the opposite.
    Fine reaction and well spoken!

      They are pushed that way as much by other men.
      I have lots of friends that are 40s that are pushing each other to be "manly" and my other group of friends are early 30s and they don't even care about being "manly" or any of that stuff. This was generationally trained by both the men and women of a WW 1 and 2 traumatized parentage. Not an excuse but also paints what they do with understandinf

    I think Richard would've had a big hand in this song. He's been quite open about the relationship he had with his mother as a child. He basically said his older sibling had all her love and he didn't have much.

    People often mistake that having control of their emotions means subduing them completely. Controlling means being in touch and aware of your own emotions. Pushing them down all the time does nothing but create a pressure keg that then is more likely to erupt.
    I also find it frustrating about the constant talk about how "sensitive" kids are, when we also are trying to get rid of the stigma of allowing emotions.

    Amazing analysis my man. Really loved your take and I know you being a father how you take the perspective and I can say they’re all quite similar. It’s not wrong because Till had difficult relation with both his parents in different ways ask have been a single dad most his life.
    I remember living away for a long time with my own life and career and fortunately have always been somewhat stable neither despondent nor too well off either. After my Dad passed away I had to quit my job move back to the state my parents lived and had to live with my mother again since and I have noticed changes in her that scare me a lot. I try not to force her to control her behaviour and how my mother would not come out of prolonged grief and mourning from the loss of my father and despite my parents being somewhat always stable individuals, my mother since the passing of my old man has been a total stranger sometimes. Despite all I can’t abandon her and have to bear what tantrum she may throw or any little or high wrong she does.

  • @TomTomson81
    @TomTomson81 Год назад +8

    You're absolutely right. The father committed suicide.
    Over 70% of all suicides are men. Why? Because they have been taught from childhood that emotions are synonymous with weakness. This is a biological, absolutely necessary process to cry. In this way, the soul provides relief. Tyrants without self-esteem and self-confidence introduced this shit centuries ago and the crap persists to this day. Only humans are so stupid as to oppose biologically intended processes and nature because they do not correspond to etiquette. The result is suicide or a significantly shortened life to the natural end.

    • @JanFWeh
      @JanFWeh Год назад +1

      Tyrants introduced it?
      Women are repelled by men who show emotions. Even though they'll tell you otherwise.

    • @flipchartpad
      @flipchartpad Год назад

      While more men are committing suicide, women actually top the charts when it comes to suicide attempts. By your logic we should teach THEM that "emotions are synonymous with weakness" because apparently that reduces one's urge to commit suicide 😉.
      Crying is a mechanism of a helpless individual challenged with some problem, to gain attention from some individual(s) who can fix the problem. E.g. babies can't feed themselves so when they're hungry they cry to make an individual that has that capability solve that issue. Or a woman might lack the capability to defend herself against an intruder, so she cries to make men defend against the threat. But for a man it doesn't make sense to cry, as - in an evolutionary context - there is no class of entities around with greater capability. It doesn't make sense to escalate a problem to a higher level of competence if there is no higher level. This is why women and children evolved to use crying as a survival strategy but men didn't. And that is why it's socially accepted for women and children to cry.
      So why is it socially not accepted for men to cry? Well, why would any woman partner with a man who bursts into tears when the sabre-tooth tiger attacks rather than killing the beast? Why would other men who form problem fixing groups (e.g. hunting groups) appreciate the companionship of a man that doesn't help to fix a problem as it arises, but instead makes it worse by being a burden. So mechanisms evolved that make both men and women be critical of (or even disgusted by) crying men. And that evolved a mechanism that makes men to not want to cry as it would lower their reproductive success.
      Now you might suggest that we don't live in said evolutionary context anymore and that in a modern world there might be benefits from crying men. First of all, these mechanisms evolved over hundreds of millions of years, they will not make way for your social engineering anytime soon unless you start to kill off non-crying men for at least the next 10k years.
      Secondly, I would argue that there are no benefits from crying men. At least not enough to outweigh the deficits or ones that can't be achieved by other means. Society depends on the emotional fortitude of men. So be the one who fixes the problem rather than worsening it! This is also true for women and children. If you can fix the problem - fix it yourself. And only if you can't fix it yourself, then you can try escalation by crying. If you're a man - you may die trying because there's no other option anyways.
      Some more things:
      "Because they have been taught from childhood that emotions are synonymous with weakness."
      Clarification needed.
      "This is a biological, absolutely necessary process to cry."
      Citation needed. Otherwise this is complete nonsense.
      "In this way, the soul provides relief."
      There is no such thing as a soul. If you want to make biological claims, please avoid esoterism.
      "Tyrants without self-esteem and self-confidence introduced this shit centuries ago and the crap persists to this day."
      I have no idea what you're talking about. Citation needed.
      "Only humans are so stupid as to oppose biologically intended processes and nature because they do not correspond to etiquette."
      False. Non human animals express all kinds of social habits that suppress biologically intended processes. And besides, it's not stupid. It's usually beneficial for survival and reproduction. There are even (non psychological) biological developments to aid such "etiquette" like language processing and the ability to speak and therefore bigger, more dense brains, increased number of facial muscles, smaller pupils or even haemorrhoids.

    Unfortunately we have become witnesses to all the extremes, over 20 years media and the mainstream lien tries to make us believe that only women have rights
    Feminism has become such a joke,i am a woman and sometimes i am embarrassed to see the downfall.

    • @flipchartpad
      @flipchartpad Год назад

      Men aren't considered disposable, women are just considered to be more important - because they are. A woman produces 500 gametes in her entire life time, a man produces three times that in a single second. If women were enlisted or left to sink on ships, society would run out of ova rather quickly.

    no denial from me. i never bought into feminism cause it always keeps quiet about how women are treated less harsh when punished by the law (in western society). blatant silence. no "equality" needed here, its already fine as is. "sexual misconduct by a woman???" "you are just jealous/weak." yeah; it's no appealing topic. glad rammstein doesn't mind.
