I’ve literally watched this movie 3 times, this week, and I can’t get enough! The chemistry they portray 😩👌 I love his German acting but any movie he plays in he kills it ! The energy he gives off, even through a tv screen, is amazing, so masculine, so timid and gentle all at once, it’s uncanny, he definitely knows how to make an impression!
me, I've seen it twice already, the second time trying to dissipate the crushing feeling I got at the end...yet I think I will have to see it a third time as well in order to feel relieved of this heaviness it left on my chest...the story is terrible and their rendition heavenly. I just love this movie and Matthias is so fabulous. I really get so tired of watching women in movies or series play so called strong women. The heroine in this movie is gentle and very strong. It is subtle. She does not have to be all knowing all being to get her message across. Thank goodness a female character who can be feminine and strong.
This is old by now, but I just had to respond to your beautiful comment on the heroine in this film. I could not agree more. When I first saw this movie, I was struck with how much I related to her character and how little I see a character like this in films. I have always been a quiet and gentle person who feels things very deeply... and although some people might think I'm not talkative or not very brave, I do what I need to do when the situation calls for it, without hesitation. And growing up and watching most movies, I was led to believe that that kind of gentleness was not something that was prized or was considered as weakness by other people.I know now that that is definitely not the case. I absolutely loved this movie. I just heard about it yesterday and had to watch it especially after watching Where Hands Touch another WII movie about German soldiers and forbidden love. Love at the end of the day is a human condition that exists no matter what is going on good or bad.

На миг показалось, что это возможно… такое сильное и обоюдное влечение. Но война разрушает человеческие судьбы, ломает людей, корёжит и выворачивает их жизни наизнанку. Я прочла повесть и там намного мягче описывается отношение к немцам , как окупантам. В фильме более жестко и реалистично. Я рекомендую Вам посмотреть Молчание моря, чудесный фильм с похожей тематикой
