World war 1 has always been facinating to me. Ive learned plenty about ww2, but every time i listen to something on ww1 i learn something new. Currently listening to the history of the great war podcast and i always feel sorry for the poor bastards living in those trenches for so long, barley ever getting leave, having their ptsd ignored and seen as cowardice, always watching to make sure you dont peek up your head on accident and give the snipers an easy target, the rats everywhere. Still, sounds better there on the western front than Gallipoli. The stories they tell about the swarms of flies, the heat, and the attacks that always fail are terrible.

I always play with no HUD. FOV 55 and I know my uniforms and symbols that’s it. At first it is frustrating but after awhile you get used to and I always get kills. It is more than worth it so you feel you are in a movie.
Hard core no hud is even better. You can accidentally kill team. Flying a bomber when you have nearly no clue where any players are and still get kills hits different.

But god I will do anything to experience when the game first lauch again with out hackers and just pure fun.
It's like real life, recognize what nation you are by their voice or even by the flag or allied spawn outfits. Then use that to react. In real life they had to react like very fast just by uniform

thats why they moved in teams , with an officer and spacing. you would have constant voices of directions and to open fire on enemies . maybe there were moment in witch it was so chaotic, but if they remained so isolated it would be PTSD fuel. not only because you lost your team , but because now you are killing ppl at short range . talking would be the best way to not get "friendly" fired .
I want something similar, however i want to be able to see what objective i am at, who owns it and if a enemy is marked/spotted. Is there a command for this?
If you compare a single person's story through the war vs the whole battle its different very different but its not all the battles that happened there are missing maps and stuff that they could have added but didnt trust me the game is amazing but it needs more players the steam version does 😂
Filters servers to find servers only activate the region and places options all *except the one to show all servers or the empty one, since it will only show you empty servers*
if you are into realism, try ultra modding fallout 4; its some of the scariest stuff ive played. if you want any tips, just tell me here and i can make a 100 + mod list (instead of giving tips)

You need to play hardcore with this to make the weapons more realistic and to make friendly fire possible so you have to be careful of who you shoot

I used to play BF4 HC with no HUD, it was amazing to say the least.
i still play it 2/3 times a week, its the best one out there and ww1 is quite unique

You should be able to disable to voice narration in the audio settings I do believe.

Videogames used to be a lot less HUD heavy. A lot of it used to be integrated intuitively into the gameplay
This Game has nothing to do with realism, turning the HUD off doesnt really Change much but the Atmosphere xD

The voice is anything but annoying. Fucking iconic. What _is_ annoying though, is the kill and hit marker sound effects.
I changed it to a guy's voice, but it would have been unreal if they made it sound like an officer's voice shouting the updates of the battlefield

I play on Xbox and I tried to play on PC one time but there was a lot of hackers. It's not dead, but it has a hacking problem on pc
