I recently finished the hunter helmet and I was amazed by how quick dry brushing is what would have taken a few days to paint took maybe 2 and a half hours

Doing a commander thorn helmet could be a fun challenge. It's a very unique and intracate design and it looks lit.

I have a fiber glass type 1 Clone trooper helmet that I should finish. I think this inspired me to do so.
I'm gonna be doing a Howzer bucket eventually. The color I'll be using just to see how it turns out is Rustoleum Chalked Tidal Blue. Loving how this turned out though.

Completely off topic but with the arc trooper files how would you recommend sticking the backpack onto the back plate of the armour?
You should definitely try at making a Captain Fordo helmet. He is by far one of the coolest clones and a very unique helmet.
Isn’t the strip above the black rim supposed to be gray? The clone wars simplifies color patterns and certain geometric components on armor and clothing, so a realistic depiction would need it
Yeah casts are faster than 3d prints I made 4 helmets for May 4th just in time.
Hey it will be more accurate if you added some weather to make it look like it was more used in the clone wars

i got your Republic commando files and printed them out, any tips on how to conceal the seams? Due to the nature of the size of the neck hole i needed to make a stretchable flap, and cant completely fuse the pieces. any ideas would be apreciated
Any ideas on how to make decals for masking instead of using masking tape because I struggle with making the decals and cutting them out of the tape and not cutting the helmet with the knife

I bought a 3D printer, I’ll buy some files once I get the thing working 🥲. The build plate leveling knobs won’t lower the bed any lower, but it’s still too high for the glass bed, pain.
Then you loosen & move your Z Endstop up, or buy a bltouch which is goat.

Do you have any advice on how to make visors stick more? I just made my first helmet and the visor separates quite easily and I can't access the same clay and adhesives you used in the video. Any recommendations? Thanks.
Look for the velcro command strips, you can cut them into smaller sections and use them for contact points. Plus, if it ever cracks, it's easy to replace

Instead of liquid latex, try using yellow mustard. It comes off cleaner than latex & doesn't trash your brushes.
what do you recommend cutting out the visor with if you do not have a tool like the one shown in the video?
I just used some regular scissors
Are you talking about the black visor, or cutting away the resin to open up the visor?
Scissors for black visor. To open up the visor, drill holes near the edge and razor/precision saw then file it down. Rotary tools are pretty cheap these days.

You could use chipping fluid to create all the paint chips. I use it in model building all the time and I'm going to try it on my first Clone armor.

Silicone £85 for 5kg(2 or 3 moulds), £15-20 in fiberglass. £9 of resin per helm. 3-4 hours labour. 30-40 pulls per mould.

It's hard to find the exact color to use, and spray paint has been fairly sparse in stores lately. All things considered, even if it's a bit off, it's a well-made helmet and a lot went into it
Small flaws or inconsistencies in these sorts of things are normal, it comes with their handmade nature

Why aren't you double gluing? Dob of superglue to hold it in place fast, and E1000 to back it up.
That's cheaper than most I've seen
For sturdiness and lifespan of the mold
I wasn't too worried about the extras staying in place so I just used the e6000
