@devincauble5516 that's not how it works. Rangers title is exclusive to ranger battalion. Ranger tab means you are ranger qualified. You can't be in the ranger battalion without a ranger tab hence qualified.

So he essentially spent 4-5 years as an infantry officer where he went to Sapper School, and then got promoted and went to Captain's Career course for Space Force, then went to Ranger school.

why do space force wear Camo? If they need Camo shouldn't the Camo blend in with their environment? So thinking Camo that blends in with chairs and key boards....asking for a friend....
Because even though they work in an office, often times those office's are in environments that benefit from camo. Because it unifies the force as any uniform would. It makes them harder to identify as key targets when they are in a mixed population, such as a FOB with other components. For example, if you infiltrate a base and are going to suicide bomb a target, would you prefer to take out an infantry squad or their SATCOM crew?
20 yrs USAF combat vet, oh how the military has changed, and as with change some good and some bad. I’m happy he’s happy.😊. One thing I always said the difference between officers and enlisted. Enlisted have to test to get promoted, and officers get promoted by time in service. 😂

Ever heard of any college or university where one can get a masters or PHd? Yeah, your right officers don't test do we. For an NCO that served 20 yrs you didn't learn a lot about your comrades in arms.
@@romans6two338 well I am an officer with 24 years....promotions are a joke these days 100% to major....Lt Col isn't even hard anymore....I passed the SOS course without even taking the plastic wrap off the workbooks...ACSC AWC I did correspondence and I can tell you I never once used any off it......a then there was of course the Masters I got...did that online...only thing I ever used was power point and spreadsheets.....It was time I retired.....USAF has turned into a giant social experiment....anyone with potential leaves early in their career once they learn the way to promote was brown nosing and wing golf tournament coordinator.....wont be long before a Space cadet becomes the Chief of Staff... Intelligence and Space folks should NOT BE ALLOWED to be line officers just like Doctors and Lawyers......next you will see Space Cadets with combat time....HOW THE HOW IS THAT?? All my combat time I had my pink body in harmless way....hell even alot of combat support time I was flying over hostel areas.....
The young man has attended both Ranger and Sapper courses and he spends most of his time in a facility, so what is the value in that? Look, I'm 100% fine with any servicemember attending those courses if they feel that it makes them a better Soldier, Sailor, Airmen, or Marine. However, the Space Force Officer's Guardians that serve under him gain very little or nothing at all given how those courses don't correlate to what the Space Force does. Yes, I know that he feels that attending those courses gives him a better sense of how the troops he would support in the field would operate, but let's be real, it isn't much. He can still be very effective as a Director without those courses, but like I said, I have no problem with those who are willing to challenge themselves by getting slots to Ranger and Sapper courses, because those courses are open to all branches and MOSs.
Considering how limited the slots for those schools are i think it's a massive opportunity and resource cost for a guy that realistically spends 5 days a week in an office for his actual job.

They made it into a "leadership" school that anyone can attend and it has led to a number of graduates doing absolutely nothing with the training they received, except for the tab to say that they did something extremely tough to do. A non-combat MOS graduate of the Ranger and Sapper courses are like a co-worker in a civilian job who does triathlons or marathons. You would be on equal footing in the job, but you wouldn't be able to relate to them doing those events because it really has nothing to do with the actual job. That Space Force officer, based on MILITARY education belongs in Ranger battalion or an infantry/sapper unit than a freakin office. He had already developed or possessed the intellect to be a director at a space agency.
This. I had a PL like this. A West Pointer, who accumulated every tab you can think of, but never used half of them. His father was a 3 star, so he got into any school he wanted. After OIF he told us he was going to BUDS. Never kept in touch with him after that.

Those tabs only says that he has a strong will to prepare and not quit under conditions that suck. Yet, he works in a office which makes his attendance to those courses wasteful because he can't share any of the knowledge that he gained from those schools to make his troops better in the field.....a field that they never will see in any real capacity. You attend Ranger and Sapper schools to return to your units and pass down those skills that you attained to the troops under you, but in reality, it rarely ever happens. It is largely about joining the club and wearing the tab showing what you accomplished. It is what it is and there is nothing wrong with it since it is allowed and even encouraged.
He’s not an actual Ranger, he graduated Ranger school, the two are not the same thing, it’s just a leadership school, anyone can go and graduation gives you the tab. To be an actual special operations Ranger you have to attend and graduate RASP, which is a selection that gains you entry into the 75th Ranger Regiment
He went to Ranger School *_NOT_* the Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP). Ranger School is a infantry leadership school that high performing individuals from any branch can be sent to. From all accounts I've heard it is grueling as hell, so passing the school with no Special Operations tier selection school experience is _remarkable_ . BUT completing Ranger School doesn't mean you have the training or skills to be an fledged 75th Ranger Regiment (an actual Special Operations Regiment) member. So he isn't a Special Operations dude that got recruited for direct action (or maybe unconventional???) space warfare. He's a ridiculously well qualified program manager for one of country's most expensive defense programs; not an infantry baddie. Just wanted to add that important information in case some people watch this and aren't familiar with some of the military's selection schools. 👍

Every infantry officer that attends infantry basic officer leader course (Ibolc) will attempt the ranger course at least once before they leave Ft Moore. Ibolc students have the highest priority for ranger course slots. Ibolc is basically a pre-ranger course for every lieutenant.

Freakin USAF commissioned officers always got to go to all the cool Army schools, but really for enlisted guys it would be Security Forces and TACPs likely going to Ranger school, and you can only technically call yourself a Ranger as well as wear the Ranger tab whilst performing Ranger duties, unless the 36-2903 has been changed

Besides the jokes Captain Reynolds’s combat skills are an asset on the battlefield as he can coordinate security for installations behind enemy lines and the like.
Except he goes to air force academy, gets a ranger tab, graduates test pilot school, and gets jump wings, and holds half the billets in his command. So he's actually a vastly better officer.
Hey Guardians led the way with Petty Navy officers degree not a masters and the systems are proprietary so the basic thing is take the additional feds off the military customs awards deck because people think they can pile workers in selected offices without the build for it.

Ngl sending any member of the Space Force to courses like Ranger school, selection, airborne, air assault, sapper, etc. is a waste of time and money. They won't and can't make use of these skill sets, and take up a sought after slot that could've been filled by someone in a branch who will make use of those learned skills.
