Thanks. Never knew how to play the whole song but decades ago my other guitarist and I figured out the opening chords just to hear our singer scream at us, "Screw you guys. We're not playing that." We usually followed up with the Whole Lotta Love riff which got the same reaction. 😂
Well done, thank you! Since you have 3 years to catch up, in no particular order: Toys in the attic Walk this way Back in the saddle Same old song and dance Sweat emotion No more no more Mama kin Draw the line Jaded Living on the edge Or just about any other 70's/80's Aerosmith :0)
Sounds like a Les Paul on the recording. That minor key makes the song sound mournful. It also sounds oriental somewhat. I could never get that lick. My buddy could nail it after I played the intro, used to make me envious. Thanks for doing a great job of breaking it down.😊
Quite a complex intro to a very soulful song. It reminded me of my early guitar learning days and sight-reading Spanish acoustic stuff with lots of little nuances and 'feel'. I will study this lesson further and get this right under fingers. I find this song quite surprising of Aerosmith, given they always seemed to be 'Living on the Edge'. 🤣 A very good lesson. 👍
Yeah, "Dream On" was re-released when Toys in the Attic was taking off, which led to both Aerosmith and Get Your Wings to climb back into the charts. And man, do I ever love Aerosmith. Rocks was the album that reeeeaaally made me want to play guitar as a young teen. Aerosmith and AC/DC are what I woodshedded on for hours on end when I was first learning. I know plenty of Aerosmith songs, but I still look forward to seeing you do more from them.
Oh so good! Great lesson and yes, more Aerosmith please. How about Adam’s Apple off Toys in the Attic. I love No More No More, but that one has some different tuning or something going on with it.
Superbes explications !😊👍 I live in Normandy from France i love your RUclips Chanel ; what a beautiful guitar do you have ! I didn't know that Gibson produced custom les paul with parallogram dots. Usually it's with block dots for custom models?? I hope you understand my english 😊it's so far! I'm 59 yo😂 🇺🇲👍
FANTASTIC LESSON! If theirs one bit of advice I could give you from a player of over 45 years.....DON'T POST TAB! It cripples new players to the point that whey will never train their ear. If a player that's been relying on tab since they started playing was asked to jump up on stage and play a song that they're not familiar with they're screwed from the get go. I'm guessing that TAB is the reason that modern Rock sucks. All off paper but nothing from the SOUL. ps: I love the Blonde ANTASTIC LESSON! Joe Perry was so incredibly impressive back in the early days but latter he seemed to have forgotten how to play the guitar 🫤 now he is just a caricature of himself 😔
Your an amazing teacher thank you for the lessons
If you think about the history of rock on the radio, dream on must be in the top 10. Great work!
Great choice for your first Aerosmith tune! One day we'll get you to do some beastly Yes lessons.
My favorite band ever! I got some great memories and history with them!

great job as always brother...the ascending run starting at 24:11 is the highlight of the song IMO
Great lesson. Tough to play. Thanks
I call it their swan song. Love most of their stuff but this is their best piece ever.❤
Great lesson! I've known parts of this up to now, but not the entire thing.

Love to play that great song since many years but thanks for showing us some tricks they both do.
Cheers from France 🤘
👍👍! So many great Aerosmith tunes for you to break down, "Last Child" and "Get the Lead Out" are a couple fun ones you could cover. 🎸
Rats in the Cellar, Nobody's Fault, Draw the Line
Excellent chords.thx man…

yep Adams Apple is exactly the one I was thinking of for Aerosmith next.
@@12footchain That would be awesome! Looking forward to it.
Been a while, thanx for the refresher !! Much appreciated !
How about Sympathy for the Devil, Ya Ya's live version? Love your channel ❤️
Awsome!
68 Gold Top and a 70's era Stratocaster were the main guitars on the debut.
Superbes explications !😊👍

It's actually just a standard, I put a "custom" truss tod cover on it because I wanted it to look like George Jarrisons "Lucy" les paul.
@@12footchain ah you ' re a little trickster !😄🤣
So it's a hidden les paul standard !!
Thank you for your answer , you're the man !🙂👍🎸🙏
Thanks!
Thank you!
Your lessons are awesome. Are all of your tabs on guitarpro?
I'm still working on some backlog on a few of my first videos. But vast majority are

The only version of this song that is worth listening to is the version that Ronnie James Dio and Yngwie Malmsteen did otherwise🥱🥱🥱
Too much talk. Any player ready to learn this song doesn't need all that chatter and minute explanations.
Thanks!
Thank you!
