german's main charecteristic is great firepower. up to 6.7 its a point and click adventure for the most part

Not recommended though.. much harder to aim using something like the Leo if you are used to tigers, Panthers, panzers.
The zoom on the Leo will throw you way off sometimes if you're not used to it.
Unlock the HEATFS and the Rangefinder asap on both the M48 and the Leo.
You have 400mm pen at all ranges flat on, and it one shots almost every SPAA/light tank as HEATFS hull breaks everything.
It typically one shots Russian tanks. Specifically the t44 is free food. You can shoot it angled or not.. youl'll pen and usually 1 shot.
The spaced big tanks like the t34 will give u a run for your money.
Also uptiers= everyone has stabilizers and you don't.

@@svitrutar9137 That's because like me, I'm willing to bet you're usually shooting with your tanks main gun at an incoming plane at low elevations as it's heading straight for you, whereas with an SPAA, you're usually just spraying the sky hoping to hit something lol.
It’s important and more helpful to wait until the plane gets close. It drives me crazy seeing people going ham on a plane that’s out of range, chances are they won’t hit anything and they’ll end up revealing their location . Be patient and shoot in burst and try to stay concealed. Don’t reveal your location until the enemy is close and don’t have time to react quick enough and you’ll get more kills in spaa
@@jimmyshane3439 Have to agree here. Even in arcade, if you wait till the plane(s) get within 1km/750 yards or so, they're quite easier to hit and kill. If you're playing realistic or simulator, use the test drive and get used to the ranges that make a kill likely. Use the Gunner sight sometimes so you can use the reticle to estimate the range a plane is at, so you know the planes silhouette in the gunners sight for a sloppy range estimate.
Also, if you wait till the plane commits to a dive or bomb drop, you can either get a good hit or force the to abort that attack.
actually, at this tier, the panther was my fave, iunno, just always seemed to work well. it always seems to have just enough speed, armor, and firepower, regardless of situation, that it didn't require too much adaption to maps
The Panzer IV/70(V) fills that for me. It can do everything the Panther D can, aside from raw speed (made up for by having an actual reverse gear) , and it doesn't have the glaring turret weak spot the Panther D is cursed with. And it's at a lower BR
@@Sreven199 The IV/70(V) takes my vote for vehicle I most enjoy playing and most hate playing against. At least hellcats are fragile!

I've been playing WT for years now. Heck I started back when there were 20 tiers. And while I'm far from having completed any of the tech trees I think I am familiar with most vehicles in the game (excluding naval).
But there's something nice about listening to you describe each and every one in detail. And I do often either learn something new about a tank or consider using it in a different way thanks to your work. That and I kind of treat these videos like podcasts, listening on while I do something else and shifting attention when something catches my ear.
So thank you for your work!

@Bharath Yadav Hulldown is a position a tank can be in where only its turret is visible to the enemy. Like when you go over a hill: from the other side the turret is the only part of the tank you can see for a while.

23:18 Although it definitely does assist in HEAT protection, the plates were installed to defeat Russian anti-tank rifles during the early stages of Barbarossa. It also has an L/48 gun, whereas the F2 and G have the L/43 gun.
I strongly disagree with his view on the PZ4H I used that thing with my Tiger at 5.3 and it was a great late game backup because by that point most of the heavy armor will be gone

Because hull MGs are irrelevant during 99.9% of confrontations in WT. They are far from the priority when there are much more substantial things to add.

Great job as with all other tech tree reviews. I was surprised to find that I agree with 95% of your opinions. Especially regarding the British, it is way too popular to disregard their 7.3 (to be 7.7 soon) line up because of APDS ammo, and Challenger I lineup due to overall performance.
On Pz.Bfw.IV, jeez that is expensive for such useless vehicle. Long time ago I received it for free from some kind of event, for the life of me cannot remember what was the event.
Yeah, I bought the Pz IV Bz thingy when I was fairly new and it was on sale. The slow turret traverse killed me (not a metaphor) and after my experience with the F2 I didn’t really understand why I couldn’t get along with it. I dropped it from my lineup as soon as I unlocked the G. Nice to know it’s not just me. I also don’t like the look of the skirts, although some people do.
I just bought it and really like it in AB tho, 8 times out of 10 you are fighting against 3 3-3.7 br tanks and with 3 panzer IV there is nothing can stop you. The J and the premium one has a better gun and you can one shot even kv1s easily.
@@fomwaag In AB this makes way more sense because your turret drives get boost like engine does. But to be honest, in WT switch from L43 to L48 does not give any meaningful difference, you get +3mm of pen point blank and +10ms shell velocity, that is nothing. But hey if you enjoy playing your prem tank, that is good enough. I enjoy playing my T54E1 from time to time even tho it is complete garbage.
Oxy, these reviews are invaluable to me, I am a beginner to WT having started 6 months ago and together with the help from your Ultimate beginners guide I have now started to progress up the tank trees, I am just coming up to the top of tier II now,
I hope you will be able to produce similar guides for the Russian and American lines soon too.

This video is FANTASTIC! I’ve been playing WT since September 2021, long time gamer (Xgen) playing on PS4 and all AB. I was doing okay on American and German trees but struggling with the Tigers. Watched your vid last night and on 2nd/3rd matches this morning I had back to back 3 kills with the H1! Just a dream to play as you directed.
What’s more I watched your Rank 1 German tank vid this morning and have been having a blast with the Pz.II C/F and the Sdf. Premium tank. Just having so much fun

I've had so much fun spading the Sturer Emil aka a Jumbo Slayer. I know it is technically terrible, but slaughtering Jumbos is just too funny to pass up on lmao. Ironically I had a better time with it than with the Dicker Max

@@Callofmuts Dicker Max has a better and memeier name therefore it's 500 time better.
The Hetzer is a BEAST in Conquest mode. Since there's only one cap, you can just point your front armor in the general direction of the enemy, and then it's point and click. You don't have to worry about flanking unless your team overextends or is lagging behind.

these videos are fantastic even if you dont play the country the video is about, its worth learning the strengths and weaknesses of all the vehicles in the game. Best war thunder content creator in my opinion, keep it up, the subscribers will start flooding in more and more as your videos get the attention they deserve.

Well, in RL the first real counter to tiger appeared in 1944, so.....
Just fight Tiger II or even ATGMs from 1950s.
I don't reccomend using Tigers for CQC.They perform far better sniping.It's basically a heavy sniper.
You might not agree with me but when you see the inside of the tank using the 'X-ray' tool you will get my point.
It will always have an ammorack on the left front corner of the hull (right side if the tiger is facing you) which is easily penetrated even by itself.Bring less ammo,then you will be caught with no ammo left.
The Tiger II does the job better though the ammo rack on the Tiger II (P) is as easy to detonate.The (H) is imo the best German HT you could get without spending money.

Agreed. But there are 2 problems to this:
1. Not all players have sharp eyes that could see the enemy 1km away and use headsets (or atl good ears) to know when there is a hostile sneaking up. Let alone an Italian car with bushes. That is why i stay in RB for tanks. But for the Tiger,600-700m is good enough. Just wiggle and they mostly bounce off (except if you are at 6.7)
2. Some tanks are less effective when sniping. An example to this is a Maus or E100.They have great CQC potential but just because they are ded slow doesn't mean you should

Little addition: the Brummbär in Arcade is a real killing machine! With no aiming troubles and always aiming at the turret ring on heavies, you can basically one-shot every vehicle in the match. Sometimes you fail to hit the right spot but the next round will usually finish the job. When I end up in a 4.0 - 4.7 match I feel sorry for my opponents.

Great video! Thanks! And wow, how times have changed! Well the premiums have shifted around and gotten cheaper, which is nice, some vehicles have dropped in BR, but most that you go in great detail are still about the same, which is also very helpful. You did also miss covering the BF 110 G, which you have in two of your "best lineups" the 4.0 and 3.7, only reason I mention it is that well it has a 30mm option or 2 20s.
I am grinding and spading tier 4 atm, so Stug 3g, 110g-2 (now), wirbel, pz4H, 8.8 Flak, ostwind.
4.3 I can't wait for though, Hetzer, JPZIV, Stuher Emil, Ger Churchill, might add the IVJ, HE 219. I got a 20% off coupon on the PZ 4/70 A, it is at 4.3 but not really sure. That makes it 2300 GE, hard to justify. Kv-2 is at 3.7 and HE has been reworked so for 1750 sounds better, or just playing the tech tree sound fine.
Ostwind sounds better as it has a unlimited clip, not sure if they reduced clip size with wirbel but seems pretty short and tough to deal with.
The KV 1 C 756 got moved to 5.0 after I bought it in the spring, which makes it really hard to know what to do there, Probably not for 5.3 right? So I just bring my 4.3 in with it? There are no 4.7.

The length doesn't even matter in this case, because you discuss every German Rank III vehicle and that takes it time.
I mean we have all Rank III German vehicles in one video! No need to wait until PhlyDaily or someone else upload an (updated) video about a tank you want to see it's play style...

Tier 4 is basically "well this tank performs incredibly well ! average armor (or no armor at all) but it is really mobile, with an exceptional gun and a very handy autoloader ! the repair cost though makes it impossible to play unless you want to lose money... consider it or avoid it if you're not an experienced player"

The Pz.IV Ausf.H in game has the old cupola,H” variants used a lot of parts interchangeable with late drugs like the flush cupola that doesn’t stand proud of turret roof.Steel return rollers in various styles were also later details from simplified construction and saving rubber.

I've found that the Sturer Emil can work wonders that I just can't with the Dicker Max. Staying at range really helps it, and the added penetration seems like overkill, but Sherman Jumbos and especially IS-series tanks suddenly stop having armor, compared go the Dicker Max that still struggles against these sometimes.

Burnt plays welllll, I was not ready for university the first time around. But now i'm working and spending all my money on this degree, and I have a 3.87 in a double-major statistics/computer science degree. So I really, REALLY don't need more gaming power right now.

Interesting analysis. Note that the PzIVF2 and G both have the L43 cannon, whereas the later H model and the TDs have the L48. Very minimal difference in performance with the same ammo, but still a delta. Also, you never mentioned optics - I find the German optics a significant advantage over US and Soviet adversaries, but would be interested in knowing which platforms have the best and which are just ok. Liked your discussion of the 'almost' stab effect you can get from German suspension on several models. Good vid.
Reasons to consider the He 21 A-7: while it has a BR of 4.3, it sits at tier IV.
This thing is a very effective jet grinder, besides also having one of the highest (if not the highest) SL modifiers in the German tech tree.
For CAS, it is a budget Me 410/Do 335.
The along with the smoke grenades, the Panzer IV J also has the same gun as the 4.3 but at 4.0. Although it has nearly the same stats unfortunately, so these small upgrades are not worth sacrificing the turret drive for. Which is probably why you forgot to mention this lol. Great series, very helpful 👍.

i love the "no reload" on the Ostwind its a real Pro the Wirbel often hit and dont do samething and mostly when the enemy is realy close you are in a reload. yes Wirbelwind is easyer to use but better is the Ostwind (hard to master) but more rewarding.

*NOTE OF PERSONAL EXPERIENCE* : I have spaded and aced the pz4 H and I love it. Yes its armor ain't too useful at its br but the gun still claps and the mobility is ok. This thing claps cheeks if you play it it's a worse light spg with a turret. I love the pz4 line and this is a beauty
something about my experience with the PZIV H is that its an actually significantly better brawler at its BR. its front armor is nearly on the level of a heavy tank. by angleing around a corner, you can really effectively bait shots into your angled front and kill them on their reload. works great in urban environments as you're nearly inpenetrable against russian 76s and american 75s.

If you like the 4H for the gun and have lucky bounces, look no further to Panzer 4F2. It's 3.3, doesn't face jumbos and has the same gun. There's no reason to like any other panzer 4 apart from the F2 varient imo

@@GreenStuffConsumer panzer 4 long gun doesn't pen a jumbo at any range, unless you hit that pixel perfect MG port. But I usually work my panzer 4s or any tanks with guns that can't pen jumbo frontally by just flanking. I just wish the 4H had smoke launchers tho. But I generally avoid playing 4.3 German. I'd rather play 5.3, Panzer 4/70V is a hidden Gem, literally the best Armored German TD in game

There is a good thing about the D Max and the Sturer Emil, the low armour; and the crew and compartment layout makes it somewhat difficult to one-pen-shot-kill them with lower caliber guns, or at least some guns def struggle with it, especially if its not an HE shell. Mind you this was my experience fighting them as Soviets. (Notably anything below 85mm, but at times even the 85mm fails to one shot kill them)
Very good series, maybe even best one I have seen so far! Please consider a similar one for planes.

When the Tiger H1 was first added to the game, it had it's original double headlights in addition to those s-mine launchers. For quite some time your gun would get stuck on them. Then Gaijin adjusted the gun to automatically go over them, it was still horrible, so finally they just removed them. I'll gladly take those s-mine launchers in the way as opposed to the way the Tiger used to be. It was borderline broken, but that was years ago.
the Jagdpanzer IV 70 with the vertical armor is great since you can fire over obstacles that the regular Flatpanzers cant.
on the Tier 4 wich schould come from you soon. i recomand geting the Premium Jagdpanther when its in an event its quiet regular to get and if you have it and do it again you get 35€ worth of Golden Eagles for other vehicles.
when British CBT was introduced and where broken and OP i opened my Wallet and got the Panzerwerfer. if you have the range its absolutly Armagedon. i even managed to get an Air kill with the Rocket ones.
also most importantly maxing out all tanks is very good for research since it doesnt get the Tier penality. back then when i maxed 1 2 and 3 Vehicles wich where a lower amount than now i basicly unlocked Jagdpanther Ferdinand King Tiger P and 60% of the Jagdtiger.
also my biggest acomblishment in Tank CBT was on Kursk yelling Snapshot in Teamspeak and blindly Firing across Kursk with the King Tiger P accidently one-shoting an IS-3 on wooping 3.6km.
and the German Sherman was absolutly broken when Tanks came out at BR 2.7 over 200 Kills in RB and SB just in the first few months when tanks got released.

Forward launching smoke grenades grant you the ability to build a smoke wall like in some other game that allows you to place a wall on distance. Very damn handy, will miss it on E.

Oxy, I know you have a ton on your plate in videos to do but watching your vids I've often been struck by your keen analysis of how games develop and the tactics you adopt for them. Now, I realise that you've said repeatedly that they are often both vehicle dependent and map dependent but your insights into how games develop might be very useful for new players and old players alike. So yeah, if you get time a tactics video would be immensely appreciated.

Due to the add on armour on the H you can play hull down as it covers the front of the turret preventing american 75mm and russian 76.2mm guns been as much of a threat
