I was in Lowes yesterday and put a staghorn fern in my cart. I put it back. I don’t know enough about how to take care of them. It was so healthy and nice. I need to do some research and maybe go back. Your shopping trips always make me just a little jealous. The Lowes in New York just don’t add up. Thanks for taking us along. 😊
The blanket flower Gaillardia is very neat. I have several in my gardens that attract butterflies non-stop. They are really the daisy and sunflower family and spread their seeds each year. The birds like finches love them. Enjoy. Sherry 🌻
Hi Carmen! I have a couple of orchids and have been successful in reblooming them. I water mine by filling up the pot with water and letting it sit for around 20 minutes, then I take out the nursery pot and dump out the water. I have mine planted in regular orchid bark I picked up at lowes. You are so right about the ice cubes! Not only don't they don't do the job, but they are freezing cold, on a tropical plant!
Great haul!! The ground orchid do really well in Florida. Have them both in the ground and I pots. Beautiful orchid❤. Make sure to share the repotting of the orchids. Loved to see it. 🪴🌺
Hi Carmen, that s great that you poored out the water of the Z Z s, i dont understand the thoughtlessness of the employees at the stores, but in germany it is the same problem. Nice helen flower, i wish you enjoy it. The bees will thank you and the plant is looking so nice! Have a good time, from Martina, Germany.
When you said Clermont I was so excited because I live in Ocoee and Winter Garden area.. I also shop at Clermont Lowe’s and Walmart 😊😊..small world after all..
Outstanding clearance finds!!! 🎉🎉🎉 I rarely EVER pay the ridiculous full price for plants. My whole 200+ collection have been derived from Lowe's Clearance section...🥰😍💃💃💃
I finally saw clearance racks at one of the Lowe's I visited today. The first rack had some pretty bad looking plants. The second rack had a nice Hosta, but I wasn't really looking for a tall, large-leafed plant.
Hey. Love this haul! I believe that cactus is a Mammillaria polythele. Ive been getting inti orchids. My mom has always had them. She recently bought one home and put it with the others. She didnt realize it was infested with mealy bugs. All the other orchids had. Had to throw out the medium, clean them and repot. Even the shelves had them 🤢 talk about creepy crawlies 😆
Thanks for the info! I think you're right about the cactus, I looked it up and the pictures look just like it. I'll have to pick it up next time I'm in Walmart.
Wow, those plants you dumped REALLY had a lot of water. I went to two Home Depots and two Lowe's today to look for air filters and plants. I saw a plant that was really pretty at the first Home Depot. It was a Tradescantia called Feeling Flirty (a Proven Winners plant) that has a little pink mixed into the green leaves and the backs of the leaves have touches of purple. I really wanted to get one. What I didn't understand was why the plant (or many plants) was/were packed so tightly into one pot! Most pots had wall to wall leaves. It was hard to get a finger in to remove the nursery pot from the ceramic pot. I decided to keep looking for that plant to see if I could find a less cramped one. On my visit to the second Home Depot, I finally found one that wasn't so crammed with plants, but still seemed crowded. Once I got it home, I used tweezers to pull a lot of dead plant material from deep inside the plant. I may have to take the plants out of the pot to separate them. Someone posted a picture of the Proven Winners plant online, and it's full, but not crowded like the pots I saw. Such a pretty plant, but with so many plants packed into one pot like they were, some leaves were just being smothered and got no light at all. Hard to believe Proven Winners grows them like this.
Hi Carmen, Many thanks for these two plant shopping tours. I always enjoy seeing pretty plants! Loved everything you picked up! You really got some great deals. Very happy for you. Happy growing! 👌🪴🥰
Hi Carnen. Lowes, Wal Mart and Home Depot in Clermont. How can you go wrong. I shop at these stores at least once a week. You're a great shopper of the clearance racks. If you're ever in the area of The Villages, their Lowes and Home Depot garden centers are much larger than the ones in Clermont. I have gotten some unique and unusual cacti and succulents there. Thanks for posting the video.
Thanks carmen for taking us along to lowes and k mart. I think you will get the staghorn fern looking good in no time in the beautiful pot. Have a blessed day.
Wow, your stores was stocked very well. My Walmart's, home depots & Lowes seems like they haven't had any shipments in months. Maybe next month I will check again.
Carmen on a mission 😂🙌, I was laughing when you were emptying out the water from the costa farms plants. I do the same thing, it’s a sin when the employees do that😩. Love your new orchid, I’ve been dipping into them myself, I just have 1, having killed my last one, but so far so good. My mother in law gave me the advice of ice cubes, an absolute no no. I definitely agree that putting the galiardia in the ground will really help it take off.
Enjoyed the video you got some good deals I was hoping you were going to turn the camera onto Rosie she sounded like she was hyper lol thank you for taking us along
I'm so glad you posted the silver dragon with the bloom!! Mine has two blooms and a new leaf beginning to unfurl!! I have it in a south facing window in my bedroom along with about 13-14 other assorted houseplants. I live in southern Colorado!! This is my first silver dragon and I was just about to "google" it to learn about the blooms! Thanks, Carmen! I always enjoy your videos!!😂❤👏💛👍🪴🪴
OMG! Poor ZZ standing in the pool! Whoever this person who watered them should neve be allowed near plants section! They killed all those beautiful plants for sure! Thank you Carmen for trying to save them (ps: i always do the same 😄 sometimes i even cleane plants from dead leaves and other mess on top of the soil 😄
Florida has great weather for plant nurseries. You should have poured the over-watered chameleon ZZ's water into the Golden Pothos that were dry. I hate seeing plants dying because the store doesn't make sure the plants have enough water. I have even told employees to water certain plants that were very dry but the answer I get is there is supposed to be someone that waters them. Sad World we live in when a living thing is not cared for out of laziness. I understand that a certain number of plants will dye but at least try to keep them alive. Take care.
@@carmenwhitehead I know that you would have helped out the Pothos if you could have. Nursery/Garden Centers of big box stores always unwater or over water their plants. I like shopping with you, so I get to see the new plants and I don't spend any money. haha Take care.
@@carmenwhitehead One time Carmen I was fed up and took an Anthurium Superbum to the Ladies bathroom at the store! I gave it a nice drink from the sink. I got a few looks, but hell a Superbum treated like that with no water?? I simply couldn’t take it!
Please do not put your orchid in soil! That is a sure way to kill it. Phals in the wild grow bare root on trees. If repotting it, use chunky orchid bark so there is a lot of air around d the roots. It should thrive for you then.🙂
Hello Carmen!!! This is a wonderful tour. I agree the desert escapes plants were amazing. I have had a geo, but it didn't last for me. I will try again. the leaves are amazing. I have a couple of alocasia in bloom right now. they are very pretty. Awww... those poor ZZs. I am so happy you saved them from drowning. I love hibiscus!!! Great deals Hello little doggie!!!!
The Aglaonema is stunning!

The Lowes here are really incredible. Even better than Phoenix.
Nice find of plants ❤
All great plants Carmen, they will be happy in your home/garden👍

I hope so!

Glad you enjoy it! Thanks for watching!

I don't think they hire people that know anything about plants. It's just a job to them. Which is sad for the plants.
When you said Clermont I was so excited because I live in Ocoee and Winter Garden area.. I also shop at Clermont Lowe’s and Walmart 😊😊..small world after all..
It is a small world. I've been in Central Florida for one year now and still exploring the area.
Outstanding clearance finds!!! 🎉🎉🎉 I rarely EVER pay the ridiculous full price for plants. My whole 200+ collection have been derived from Lowe's Clearance section...🥰😍💃💃💃
That's great Charlene! I don't like paying full price either or really more than $20 for a plant. Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you! You too!
Hi Carmen loving your haul, especially the ORCHID and the Monstera Adonsoni!! I'm looking for to seeing your repot of your orchid!!
Coming soon! I'm planning on a patio update and it will show the orchid.
Hi Carmen, here a small addition to the cactus you saw at the store, it could be a mammillaria vagaspina!❤
Oh thanks!

Nice haul😊
That orchid is beautiful ❤
Gallardia will do great in the garden 🦋
That fern pot alone is worth $7, so cute 😉
Thanks for taking us along 🤗
Thanks so much 😊
Thanks for pouring out the water on the ZZ’s, I bought my first this year and almost lost it to the store overwatering it. I do that too😂
I feel so bad for them! You do what you can.
Great video Carmen! Nice choices on the plants that came home with you.

I love the phal you chose, and I love even more that you told everyone watering with ice is a no no!! The pot that staghorn came in is really cute!
I love the deals I found too!
Some really great finds Carmen!

Rosie and Georgie were fighting over a little cat toy they found. It never ends here!
@@carmenwhitehead oh my lol animals can act like children sometimes lol
The geo needs high humidity. It is also picky with drafts and will quicly crisp up if you do not give it what it wants.
Hmmm, sounds like it's a high maintenance to me. No thanks!

Yes, I misspoke by saying soil. I have placed it in very chunky orchid bark and the pot does have holes on the sides.
