Thank you for the advice. It’s tough when I visit my mom and I can feel the evil one stepping in. My mom is not a Christian and you can see the switch in my mom when he has a hold on her. I have learned to wakeup early and pray.
Peace to you that only Christ can give. My mother has far more advanced dementia and, although I live in a different state and don’t see her in person often, I do video call daily (when she has not fiddled with the Alexa device and disabled it). I certainly feel your pain and appreciate your encouragement to just continue to love them through the hard and hurtful and just shaking my head stuff. I should get her a little cage to put over the Alexa like they put o er thermostats in public buildings so people don’t mess with them so she can’t mess with it. 😂
@@knitpraycrochet you do not need a telephone, but it does use WiFi. The signal is strong enough in my Moms facility that we use their public WIFi. The Amazon Echo Show can be set up so that your Mom wouldn’t even have a need to touch it. You can “ drop in” on her and you will automatically be connected with audio and video. Then when you disconnect the call it disconnects on her end also. It’s wonderful until Mom plays with the buttons and turns the audio or camera off and doesn’t know how to turn them back on. Frustrating, but without it I would have almost no communication with her because she doesn’t understand or know how to use the phone anymore. Maybe that’s a blessing since I also was receiving 10 or 20 calls a day at one point, often just minutes apart. It’s a cruel disease that teaches us patience. Blessings.

Prayer is our best weapon 🙏🏻 as well as us setting boundaries with our parent

Since she can still use her phone, I haven't looked into the Alexa, but may need to at some point. Do you need a phone to do the video calls on Alexa?
