One of my favorite tanks in the game. Dominates low teirs, can hold it's own at high teirs. Only major problem is CONSTANT module and crew damage. Ammo wracks and fires are constant.
My problem is gun depression I just can't get this tank to work in lots of situations. Often I have to give up key positions and depend on teammates way to much.
This tank made me rethink how I play since usual strategy doesn't work.
Idk if its always been this way, but for some reason i distintly remember the tank have 6 degrees of gun depression but now it has 7. Could just be me imagining things

It's a potato. You're getting farmed.
Take a good look at where the ammo rack is located. It'll help immensely knowing what side of your front hull you can expose and which one you shouldn't.

Forget the derp, they probably were playing it stock and were enraged by the grind, like I was way back then. So many guns, and you have to start with a tier 7/6 gun. . .

I recenty buy this tank for the 2nd time to grind 430u, I 3marked it quite easily then I put the 122mm on it and see how it goes...
That was insane! This tank is a meme with this gun, gun handling is quite good and 400 damage is brutal at tier 8. I kept over 95% while playing with this gun and had games over 4k damage.
122 is not bad, just fun

best part is, when you compare the T-34-2 with the Type 59 and then remember, that the Type 59 also has preferantial matchmaking and doesn't see tier 10s.
I used the 122mm on it and had quite decent results even when in tier 9 and sometimes 10,it feels so juicy to smack somebody for 390 especially with good camo rating on the T-34-2.

T 44 is a great Med, one of my favorite in Tier 8 !
It would be great if he have at least 212-220 penetration like let say pantera or sta-1. 190 is simple to low.

T-44 is the ablosute definition of all-rounder tank. It has mobility, armor and gun, but non of them is really impressive, although the overall package is quite nice. This is one of the few tanks I managed to 3mark, just because it's so easy to play. Since then I switched to the 122 mm gun, because it's more fun for me, but managed to go down to 85% and had to spam much-much more gold. So I aggree, if you want good performance, then go with the 100mm, if you want to derp around go with the 122mm.
never play a t44 with the 390 gun!....you cant use a heavytank gun on a med! you want fast aiming and not so much blooming if u are in moving!! Dont play this tank with the 122mm...its waste of time and nervs

Skill, I found T-44 a bit difficult in beginning to make work. You get lit on fire many times and also with the low alpha of 100m you sometimes struggle against Progetto 46.
Getting lit up on fire in this tank was a standard thing to happen on every battle, but last time when i played this tank was couple of years ago. But for standard equipment on this tank i had to have a wet ammo rack, there was no other way

Hmmm one pure evil suggestio, if you play with Tech Tree Tanks (2/3 battles) play atleast one on stock gun, then you will see why everyone sayin tank is bad ;p
Stock gun on T-44 is so bad
Just farm the free XP before you buy the tank to buy the modules. Or spam the gold with the stock gun, its not that terrible. I think it have 194mm pen with gold and the dpm is not that bad.
all tanks stock are awful.. you cannot and should not rate a tank until you fully research it... and t44 fully upgraded is incredible.. that gun ... mobility and turret is so nice

I always thought the T-44 was the most OP standard tier 8 medium tanks. It has great armor, great mobility AND a good gun. It's a typical Soviet tank, better than other nations at almost everything.

My standard lineup for Frontline was Progetto, Type 59, T-44. I acquired the T-44 specifically for Frontline.
Skill I watched this as t 44 i needed to figure out the playstyle and this vid was great illustration. Watched your vids tooning with fellow canadian Lemmingrush, was hillarious and great watch of 2 ppl who really know this game. Keep up the good work, maybe i see u in NA server sometime, lol hopefully on my team haha

Fun fact: T-44-100 has a different crew setup as Obj. 430, 430U and 140 (the loader is a radio operator, not the commander) thus making it not the ideal crew trainer for those. It will work well for T-44 and T-54, though :) Glad I picked T54 mod. 1 instead without even realizing the crew setup.
The first two games pretty much sum up my experience with world of tanks. Burning, ammo rack explosion... missiong shots because bad RNG.

i would have liked to see a video with, stock then each gun as you progress, to compare your gameplay with mine, im only halfway through the modules grind. perhaps one for the future.
When I played this tank back in the day (9 years ago?), I found it was only bearable with wet ammo rack and safe stowage skill.
But then it was awesome!
T-44 is not total shit. It's actually very responsive to a good player.
Issue is there is a literally overpowered premium version that is better or equal in every single way. It's the definition of premium power creep that one of the best tier 8s lives in the shadow of it's own premium clone.
its slower the gun dont hit long shots like t44 does it 54mod is better armor but speed and gun not so much
@@xkgbciax5286 It's barely slower. In fact, I believe 44-100 has better soft stats to enable more speed, doesn't it? And the gun handling on the 44-100 is insanely OP. If you're missing anything, that's on you.
I love both the T44 and the T 44 100, I can feel the T 44 100 is better but I don't quite have the skills to maximise it every time, my win rate is only 1 percent higher in the 44 100, 53% to 54%, and average damage is only slightly better, but those games where I use the tank to some of it's potential I can really feel how strong it is, the snap shots are out of this world.
@@AllThingsCubey dont know the 44 100 sept its has trash armor i have the 54mod and its really slow next to the t44 and the gun does not hit what i aim at 25 % of the time on the mod1
@@xkgbciax5286 T-44-100 doesn't have trash armor. It's armor is comparable to the T44, has the same stats on the turret, but also has the side skirts which enable it to sidescrape a little better. To top it off, it also has more DPM and better gun handling, and is noticeably faster! Off the three, I think mod1 is the crappiest.
Any suggestions on when to use small vs large repair/first aid kit? I saw that you use the large ones on tier 10s and on tier 8's small. Is there a difference in tier or vehicle type?
No difference. As far as I know, he uses large repairs and medkit when he is going for marks of excellence. :)
large kits has passive bonus to 10% repair speed/ crew protection (less stun, injury)

I would offer one caveat to the modules; if you don't have safe stowage, I HIGHLY recommend the wet ammo rack. I loved the T44 years ago, but it is literally made of ammo racks. And yes; the 100mm gun is the only really competitive gun.

Reasonably armoured and armed, decently mobile even without the top engine and extremely mobile if with top engine. The only bad thing is really a gun depression.
Not even that, 7 degrees with 100mm is still good for a russian medium with decent turret armor

I loved playing T-44, got 3rd MoE in 105 battles with it. It's a powerhouse!
One of the best VIII tier medium... 190mm of penetration but with only 5 gold shells in equipement I 3 marked it very fast. Even on X tier with good positioning you can make very good score 😁
You should use different weapons available. T44 has a high DPM available, at least in the EU server, which I prefer to the fast reload one.

It was a relief to grind and get to this tank. I am not a frontline player but my clan does tier 8 skirmishes so I kept the tank. I got this tank when I became self aware about crew skills. But I let it sit in the garage. I dont spend money on the game so I nickle and dime the crew to three or four skills. I woke up last week decided to play it and for some reason I am tearing assholes in it. I'm concerned its because there are so many bored people looking for some isolation entertainment. But with good crew skills and not playing alone or face hugging it is very flexible and can do well in more good or bad mms. Oh yeah I marked it.
I just finished grinding the OBJ 430. Its not even a grind because the T44 is really nice, good armor and a beautiful gun. Only took me a day or two.
Stock grind:
-equip enhanced suspension for +10% load capacity, dont need to unlock tracks
-skip the turret with free exp
-unlock second gun on IS
-play couple matches with +100% booster for top gun
The tank is fast enough with stock engine, it was not needed. The engines are not used on any other tanks so its a bad investment of your time to unlock these (50k xp total)
2:35 but skieeeel back in your day when there were no boosters available stock tanks were useable now they are just a heavy weight that your team has to carry, because scumy WG wants to frustrate people so much that they start using money to skip stock grinds and bad tanks, because this is fair, balanced and fun for you and your team
The way i grinded this tank was: I played until I had researched the modules that lead to the next tank.
After that, I used Blueprints to research that one and bought it.
(T54 I had researched already through LTTB few months back.)
This way, I could sell this trash tank fast. :)
Is the engine upgrade very important in this tank?
T-44 is a great tank but t-44-100 is damn king. Who is stupid enaugh to say t-44 is bad tank?

I think so yeah. Very very good armor when you angle (I think you can get up to 340mm on the upper plate). No turret weakspot so perfect hull-down, and quite good dpm. I think it's going to be very good tank
I like it very much. Trollish armor, decent gun, good view range. I am close to 2 marking it and it will be my second 2 mark if i do it. I like british mediums in tier 8 and 9 too, maybe I am just weird.

The T-44 is not my favorite Tier 8 Medium tank. Mr. Skill, YOU are a far better Player than I am . To take this piece of SH%T into a game, and make it work, amazes me me !
Agreed. I am a noob who was told to grind for obj430 first, so this difficult (although probably good) tank was a nightmare for me. The worst thing is, I don't even like the 430, because over the time I've spent with this tank line I have begun to value mobility over armour so it's not a tank for me... So much time wasted ! :(
I cant play this tank, sold it yesterday :) im thinking of selling T-54 to, the same thing, everything pens, gold this gold that. Wondering doing only arty now ^^

I skipped trough the T-43 and the T-44 with blueprints and I got the T-54...I hated it but after like 80-90 battles in it I started to enjoy it and now I love that vehicle
If you were going to skip those tanks, it's better to go to T-54 from the light tanks. You will get all the mediums unlocked for free, when 1.9 hits - no need to spend blueprints.
i love t44, but its a living flame. it burns at least every forth battle 🌋 or ammorecks like a rocket 🚀
Good tank in the right hands. My t44s gunner was drunk all the time and bad rng was in a relationship with him, but i managed to grind the t54.

I hated the T-44 because of the low pen when it was still stock but once I got the 250 alpha gun, I started to like it more and more. The grind to max this tank is a nightmare though

One of my favourite tanks when levelling. Initially sold it to get the 430U but rebought later as i love it so much. Love the 100mm gun too, the 122 is good, but the rate of fire on the 100 is so much better for my playstyle :D Thank you for covering this awesome beast Skill \m/
You should review T-54 Mod. 1 next! It's very similar to T-44 but has better armour

When I was played this tank, fire was often problem. It is less catch fire than T-43. Imho gun and mobility are great and it is bigger step from T-43 that jump from T-34/85 to T-43. Armor is meh. For me it is better than Pershing. Or Panther II.

I have 650 battles with this machine, I grinded with T-43 gun and stock stuff, I played most of the time badly altough I have 1320 average dmg and 86% gun mark. It has great WN8 potenital and so versatile, I really like her☺️.

T44 is not bad by any stretch of imagination it just needs to be used in right places thats the main issue. Its not a 430 or t54 that has Hull armour that may bounce stuff this tank needs to be carefull.
T-44 is one T8 I'm really looking forward to getting, I have the T-44-100 and absolutely love it so I'm hoping the T-44 comes kinda close to that :)

This was my first 2 marked high tier tank, and I really like it. Gun is good enough, and the armor and speed work well together.

T-44 in a nutshell: Don't ever get shot by >105mm guns, because you're gonna burn.
T44 is a allrounder and that usually takes a good player to use to its fullest effect. What i find really interessting how the T44-100 with its +50 HP and tiny bit better gun + sideskirts feels so much nicer to play in comparison. I guess in allrounders every tiny bit of stats makes a huge difference. A really big problem of the T44 series is that its modules are huge and have low HP. The engine has high chance to burn as well. Therefore the premium version really does benefit from having the best crew avaible. With firefighting, save stoage and preventativ maintainance these can be counteracted realiably.
The bad reputation really must be from fresh players with no food, BIA and maybe like 1skill.

T44 is not a bad tank, I like it and I have very good games with it. could well out play other same tier meds with better stats.
For me the best medium was indien panzer. I was affraid of it but it surprised me how good it can be... Actually I feel that indien is better than panther. It can also bounce something for you
I think this tank is pretty good still in 2022. Gun handling is absolutely incredible. Tier 8 meds are just in an unfortunate position. They have bad penetration and bad armour in general. It is tricky to play with
This is the tank which is usually destroyed with single side hit becouse of weak ammorack or burned from frontal hit. I like this tank, but only when is on enemy team

obj 140 commander is radio operator while t44 has the loader as radioman. so take care when training situational awareness!

T44-100 is one of the best medium on tier8. Regular t44 is basically identical. It follows that t44 is one of the best tier 8 meds as well.
T-44/100 was my most favorite tank in the game. I loved that sneaky ninja. Got my assisting damage record in it (over 4000) by simply hiding in a bush and spotting.
To be honest I even liked it more than Progetto.
I have never played the tech tree T44, but I do not think it is much worse.
Try grinding it on your way to the T-54. Wait, let me pour myself another drink. I've got to see you do it. And when you rage quit for the night playing that hunk of junk I'll toast you, brother.

I actually loved this tank even before the buff, it was a bitch until fully upgraded but once u unlocked everything oh boi it is rewarding
I had to run binocs to be useful and get some XP until I ground out the good guns. It was so painful.

T 44 is good tank but only problem of these vehicles and also obj 430 at least for me is they are burning a lot. You really need to think about taking fire extinguisher or food.

Hello Skill, I have a issue with the gunmarks on the new Kpz50t and would like to hear your opinion about it.
I got my first gunmark on the tank when I had 47 battles. Now I have 74 battles and only a rating of 55.98% although I have only had good rounds since the first Gunmark (the tank is just my style). How can it be that I fell so far anyway? Alone in the last 16 battles I played today I had a WTR rating of 6035 and 3920 average damage per turn. I also checked Mailand’s military pass and saw something similar. Mailand currently has 55 battles and already the 2 Gunmark and still only 55.78% rating. What's going on and is that a calculation error? Please help me skill!
Don't play it for another few weeks untill all the unicums have had their fun with it making expectation values so high, then all the regular players will lover the values a bit and make it more obtainable.
