WOW those queues are crazy, glad we cruised when the ship was under capacity! Hola is always a good option, disappointing you couldn't book the other speciality restaurants. Aft cabins are the best! Love the matching pink and black outfits too!
Thanks for watching and glad you liked the outfits :) Yeah, it was crazy how busy it was and it was filled only between 50%-60% (according to stats Shipmonk got from a FOI) so not sure why it was so bad - none of the other MSC ones we've done at full capacity have been like that. Hola is the best... the problem with the short cruises we've have over the last year is that things do book up quick as everyone wants to try everything :) We could do that aft cabin again as it was lush!
@@CruiseMonkeys Oh interesting if only 60% full...once you have an aft its hard to go back to regular balcony, we tried to get an aft for Sky as we loved it last time, sadly they were all sold out, but looking forward to staying in our mini suite!
We tried to book the last night but unfortunately it was fully booked otherwise we would have been there every day! The food there was super tasty and paired so well with the margaritas
What a corker, Hola looks amazing and we could really relate to the food Coma 🤣. Roman certainly put a twinkle in your eyes, so that was a nice bonus 😍. I was shocked at the queues for the MDR though😧.
Hola was brilliant, some of the best food we've had on a ship and the service was good too ;) Yes, that was surprising, never seen that in any of our previous cruises.

Wow, The amount of food in Hola is awesome,!! I did watch Paul and Carole love to travels vlog on it and they raved about it too. I love to see you work your way through the Martini section. LOL. Shocked at the queues for both the buffet and main dining room. We sailed on Splendida at full capacity in 2019 and never had a problem in any dining venue. Still you will not starve on a cruise ship, (Or go thirsty!) Off to watch the 3rd installment now. See ya soon.!
Yeah, we were on the cruise before them and told them they had to try it, it is so good! It surprised us too - obviously with the maiden being under 1000 it was quiet, on this cruise it was about 55% full. We've been on Belissima, Seaside and Preziosa at full capacity and not seen queues that bad, so our guesses are it was down to the restrictions in place such as temperature checking and less staff. Hasn't put us off :) Thanks for watching.

Another wonderful vlog from the both of you, I never been on an MSC ship, but the queues for breakfast would concern me, plus I have been told, it’s the worst food at sea 🌊 but they look lovely ships. Hola looked excellent to be fair.
Glad you enjoyed the vlog! We've done 3 MSC cruises before last year, so in 'normal times' and never experienced such queues, so think it was down to the procedures. Food can be hit or miss in the main dining room, that is true but specialities such as Hola are fabulous. If you can get a good price, do try them.

Glad you enjoyed the vlog and thank you for your kind words. We've not done Marella, so not sure what they would be like but from what we have seen they are good. MSC are always fun cruises and can be really good value for money but from last year, we would say Princess. Ships are stunning, service is very good and the value for money on some of their cruises beats MSC. So depends on budget, but if you can try Princess.
Hi Gents, I am booked on a forthcoming cruise and have the premium extra drinks package. The info states a maximum drinks price in dollars, but all the drinks seem to be charged in pounds. Can you advise what the pound limit is or what was not included. Advice appreciated.
MSC used to charge in euros for sailings over here and dollars for US. The pounds was on the U.K. sailings only last year where drinks were weirdly priced. The limit at the time was £13 or no limit at all if you upgraded - they’ve changed the packages now but I think the info you have will be correct and it will be in dollar or euros. Which ship are you going on?

Shipmonk.co.uk did a freedom of info request for the MSC September cruises to Southampton Council Port Health (shipmonk.co.uk/2021/10/01/msc-cruises-reported-21-positive-covid-cases-on-southampton-sailing-last-month-new-figures-obtained-by-shipmonk-reveal/) and that shows 3360 for 11th of sept, so around 55%. We've sailed on full MSC ships and never seen that many queues so think it was just down to it being a 3 night 'party' cruise and covid protocols slowing things down.
I was on that cruise and it was pretty dismal, queuing for everything and the service was often quite poor and food below par. Nowhere to sit, everywhere packed, all restaurants booked solid. Last time ever with MSC, this cruise was to see what we thought of them. We have booked 3 P&O cruises for 2022 instead.
We agree with you. The queuing was a huge problem, we’ve done 5 cruises with MSC and it’s never been like that, 3 cruises before covid with the ships operating at normal capacity (and one just when restrictions were lifted and the ship sailing at 1000 pas). We will sail with MSC again we do like their ships and we know that this particular cruise was just just …. I don’t know what?🤷🏼 Cruising in a pandemic isn’t a true cruising experience - we can’t wait for things to get back to normal. We like P&O, we’ve been cruising with them for years & we’re due to go on Iona end of next week👍🏻 Princess are our new favorites atm! Absolutely love them! With drinks WiFi and tips for just £30pp pn they’re exceptional value for money. What ships/cruises are you going on with P&O?

I can't believe how many people in the queues did not have masks on. How many people were on the ship if the queuing was that bad?
