Most of what I like Is given to me by The one that I love Bears the onus every time Technically I don't deserve To live this kind of life Perturbed at what I might become Unchanging every time Ecstasy is what I'm needing I'm bleeding from the eyes You always shut your eyes When you look me in the eyes Always caressing The ropes which I've frayed The corpse that I'm dressing Should never be displayed Face to face is nice But sharper than a knife I teeter on it's edge Just waiting to be sliced Returning home brain dead And you inject the life Appeal to me love Remake, rebuild, revise Restavit is what I'm bleeding A laxative to cry You always shut your eyes When you look me in the eyes Always caressing The ropes which I've frayed The corpse that I'm dressing Should never be displayed
It's not about necrophilia. It's about the guilt the lyricist feels about the rift growing between between him and his lover due to his constant absent Ness as he is on tour. The line "the corpse that I'm dressing should ever be displayed" means the facade he puts up to pretend that the relationship is working is failing.
One of the best songs on the album. Not a psych pop throw-away filler song (unlike Bitter Boogie). This song seems to set me in a delightful rose-colored daze. This song is just so utterly romantic.
bitter boogie is a great homage to blues, I love that track, I love every song, just very well produced and instrumentation works so great together, very easy going songwriting
Bitter boogie has an amazing vocal performance by Ambrose, and is about being hollow and bitter; finding ambition in weed and nothing else. The bitterness rolling like the waves of some depression. I personally relate to the song, and it's a testament to the musical versatility of the Gizzards. I like a lot of these tracks, this song is also nice.
Definitely the highlight of this album for me. Has a real Beatles feel.
Stu does sound a lot like McCartney in the beginning
It really does! Give me chills how good it feels
@@onesevenninewest its not stu its joey
Would be for me if Dirt wasn't so good.
This is not Stu this is joey
easily in my top 3 of songs with the word "laxative" in the lyrics
What are the other 2 lol?
Really sweet song here. The fact that this was put out by the band that made two thrash metal albums is kind of hilarious
my favorite on paper mache. what a great album!
this song will forever give me the chills
Intense Beatles Vibes
Very! This sounds sooo goooood!
Great chord changes. It walks that mid '60's pop line so very well.

The piano playing from 2:33 on, gets me every time.
Reminds me of The Beatles

My band mate just got me this album on tape, favorite song on there :)
Sounds like tripping daisies, meets flaming lips, with Ween and tame' impala vibe
Sounds like a song Ween would make.
As a fellow WEEN fan, I nod vigorously at your comment. Spot on. I could totally see Gener singing on this. Soooo Brown.
What a sweet, sad little song. 2:35 really starts to jam... Love this whole album.
This sounds like it came from a Beatles album. Great song.
This is my favorite song about necrophilia
Fuck how many songs are about that!? 😂
@@StankPlanks a little piece of heaven by a7x is a pretty good one

@@brotherulric522 I really hope that that's what they actually meant. The dark and twisted take on the lyrics kinda ruint it for me.
@@eliasmsv3156 trust me, it's not about necrophilia and there's no other lyric in the song to suggest that it is
Heard this up at Byron Lighthouse over a BBQ. What a delight

Waldo Does Games why do you say this song is about necrophilia? Is that just your interpretation of the lyrics?
