      The free version I was using had explained, I tried downloading a new one and continuing with the endnote
      But I can't find almost 100 references and I don't know what to do😢

    • @PublicHealthResources
      @PublicHealthResources  Год назад +1

      Hi Petr, great question. It’s very likely that you need to select the correct reference style that you need. So in MS word, go to “endnote” on the menu bar and under “bibliography” select the style drop-down and choose whichever style you want and it will automatically adjust the references and citations for you👍. I hope this helps?

    • @petrjanec6961
      @petrjanec6961 Год назад +1

      Hi, I tried your recommendation. The 74 issue citations are correct (I set up the "Vancouver Super" format per your instructions) it works up to 74. But new citations are saved for me in this format "{Hansmann, 2021 #108}". And new citations are not saved in "References" at all. Everything is fine until quote 74. Thank you@@PublicHealthResources

    You can equally import your pdfs if you already downloaded them right? And can you use two reference software at the same time when referencing? I am asking because I started my thesis with medley software but my supervisor is advising I use endnotes for the rest of the journey.

    • @PublicHealthResources
      @PublicHealthResources  Год назад

      Great questions. Yes you can import your PDFs into either of the 2 softwares. It’s not advisable to use 2 different softwares for adding references and citations to the same document. Since your supervisor wants you to use Endnote, then I advise you to export your references from Mendeley and import to endnote. This link should guide you libguides.library.cityu.edu.hk/endnote/migrate#:~:text=Select%20File%20%3E%20Import%20%3E%20File.,into%20the%20Imported%20References%20folder

    • @PublicHealthResources
      @PublicHealthResources  2 месяца назад +1

      Hey! No worries and no need to be annoyed. It’s quite simple. You can cite in many ways in endnote. If you want to cite directly from MS word, in the ribbon on the left where it says insert citation, click on it. If it shows your library as empty, no worries! You just need to search. Start by typing the name of the author you want to cite in the text box and then you will see all your references from the endnote library appear in the space in the dialogue box. You can then select the required reference and click insert at the bottom and you are good to go! I hope this helps. Let me know if you need any more assistance.

    This is helpful, but is there a place to choose the type of reference style we want to use?

      Yes, you can choose from hundreds of referencing styles, just click on “styles” under “references” and select the referencing style you want. I hope this helps?

      Great question, Endnote has the ability to work with several referencing styles. When you click on the endnote tab on Microsoft word menubar and under the bibliography group, click the style drop down to reveal hundreds of referencing styles to choose from. I hope this helps?
