I remember hearing somewhere (I think I'm an interview with one of the developers) that the final area was originally supposed to be a volcano area, but due to time constraints the developers weren't able to create and implement the assets for it, so they just recycled the mine/cave theme. Rockcrocks are defeatable by hitting them with DK's ground pound when asleep, japanese version only though.
Aaand Master Necky takes 5 hits to defeat, not 3.
Guess I'll beat the trilogy again.

DKC3 is a better game than the first in many ways. I hate that I love it so much 😂
I definitely feel like Donkey Kong country won its biggest flaw was of the art styles they chose to focus levels on that they mistakenly overly focused on the cave esthetic with three separate level types basically just being a variation on cave there's the normal caves then there's the minds then as pointed out there's the industrial stages
and even if you don't include the industrial stages which are a lot of people don't the cave in minds are definitely almost the exact same thing and they're the most common level type and it's pretty lame
the jungle the forest And the snow esthetics are far more interesting visually Yet they get used much less in particular the jungle and the snow esthetic aren't actually used that much
And in particular the last world in the game is a very bland world both visually and game play wise I've actually always found the snow world and the industrial world to not only look better but to have a Better difficulty to them while the final world the levels are in general pretty easy and uneventful and tend to have gimmicks that are very slow and pondering In particular the last level basically requiring you to have both kongs at once says Donkey Kong can't hit the enemies on the platforms with the barrels fast enough the way he holds them but then Diddy can't jump on the fat guys that you have near the end that With only Diddy Kong it's almost impossible to make a few of the jumps
and I forget what RUclipsr it was but there was a RUclipsr that pointed it out to me that the game does a really good job of its world progression starting you off in the jungle where you belong and with each subsequent world things get more and more exotic For a group of primate until finally you're in this industrial world the enemy's base only for the very last world to drop the progression it just goes back to the Second World's theme which is also a knock against the last world in that the Second World basically did that visual but slightly better
Also in my playthroughs of the game I've also kind of found that the later world stopped giving you the animal buddies nearly as much which leads to the later last two worlds to be much less gameplay variety In fact is there even an animal buddy in the last world I usually don't go for the secrets and I know you can find a few animal buddies in the secrets but Yeah is there anyone to ride in the last world
Holy run-on sentence.
Please drop the next video, DCK3!!!
