i still feel lost ngl someone told me to start watching the series from SIGN to understand gg lore but... when was the conclave first introduced? tf is the opus? who was the first valentine, that weird emotionless chick from the moba? when did this dragon appeae first and why was he trapped there? also when were ram and el properly introduced? they were just kinda, already there since ch1.
Guilty Gear lore is a mess scattered all around, between Arcade Mode, Story Mode, pachinko machines and so on. I suggest you watch WoolieVersus's videos. He does a great job gathering the lore from all the games, and putting everything in chronological order.
The Conclave first makes their physical appearance in Guilty Gear Vastedge XT, though their influence stretches back as far as the first game. The Opus are warriors made by the Sanctus Populi and Illyria to battle any Valentine units, and were commissioned sometime between the Baptisma 13 incident (The events of Guilty Gear 2 Overture) and Xrd. Valentine is a character from Guilty Gear 2 Overture, acting as that game's antagonist and final boss. Paradigm is also from Guilty Gear 2 Overture, acting as one of its main characters. As for why he was apparently trapped, IDK actually, other than him being a Gear in the capital it's not explained at all I believe. Ram and El were both introduced in this game, but they're not given much intro in story mode due to how this game handles its storyline. Basically, the game features an "Episode Mode", which plays out like an arcade mode with actual battles against random opponents and then a couple bosses (Ramlethal for most characters), at the end. Each of these have their own opening and ending cutscene and small scenes before and after each boss. The "Story Mode" was first added in the console version, and is what's being uploaded here, being essentially an anime made with the in game engine and having no gameplay, and picks up where the Episode Modes leave off (which is why, say, Gabriel makes reference to Potemkin's report mentioning Bedman, cause Potemkin ended up being stalled for days by Bedman during his Episode Mode, or how Zato is just back alive with no fanfare here since the arcade version/episode mode already covered that, or why Chipp was with the Jellyfish Pirates). El actually didn't become playable until later DLC (console)/updates (arcade) to the game tho.
paradigm says something that sounds like eureka so damn much and it is bothering the hell out of me that I can't figure out what it's translating to in the subtitles.
