Our daughter attended a Chesterton academy(claimed traditionalist) a few years back and when i questioned this I was told that this type of science and evolution are all in line with the Catholic Church??? They were annoyed that I even questioned them. So thankful for all the work you and Mrs. Michael put into the CLAA. God bless your work!

Yes, this bullying is common in Catholic circles.

Chesterton schools, although I admire their engaging teachers and mostly joyful, charitable students, are NOT traditional Catholic schools... unfortunately

I remember well you once said a good teacher should prove everything they teach to pupils.

Rather, a teacher should not ask students accept as true anything he cannot prove to be so.

Thanks for the videos on modern science and natural philosophy Mr. Michael. Apart from yourself, do you know of anyone in modern academia doing work in natural science according to how it was originally pioneered by St. Albert the Great and others (based on Aristotelian natural philosophy), proposing alternative theories to that of modern science.

No, most Christians respond to modern "Materialism" with "Creation Science", which is comparable to how they respond to modern education (Math & Science) with fake "classical education" (Encyclopedic learning).

I definitely agree with your assessment of modern science. The ancients were thrown out with the bath water and substituted with teachers of the 'enlightenment'. The modern concept of certitude is sloppy at best. They do in fact give these fallacious assertions the label of certitude; but it seems to me that the problem is that our contemporaries tend to use the word certitude in its colloquial sense, which is typically equal to a strong opinion. People don't think reasonably anymore. It can be seen in the sedevacantists' tendency to take issue with the statement of Vatican 2 that the Church of Christ subsists in the Catholic Church. Even though they claim to be Thomists, they fail to even consider what subsist means.

What is unfortunate is that the "academic pressure" comes from Catholic academics. There are atheist or agnostic academics who are much more honest about the doubt-response to modern scientific claims.

True. I've studied the Philosophy of Science and NO ONE talks about Science like that who actually does the work of Science. They say, "Current evidence suggests..." or "Most scientists today argue that...". or "A recent study published by XYZ seems to show that ...". No actual scientists ever say "Science says..." or tells anyone to "Trust Science."
