Girl I was always wondering about this. There HAS to be a reason behind when they come into the werk room, and I think we found it!
I think production chose them to be the first to set the standard drag queen image. Like it's gonna be traditionally polished and femme. And it would be a contrast to the alternate queens, camp queens, "busted queens". For All Stars, it's just the fan favorites, who we're familiar with and would be a threat to the competition.
Then how do you explain Irene s entrance just asking.

I mean ngl Gottmik and Nina were probably booked out before the tour was even thought of tbh lol. They are probably two of the busiest queens from the cast in terms of gigs/bookings

I think of the All Stars 9 Cast, Gottmik and Nina are the two most likely to have prior engagement outside the Drag Race/World of Wonder brand, but that being said, I don't think its impossible you're right.

I loved this topic today - first one to walk in the werkroom was so fun!
I also feel like last into the room is probably an important player in the season. Especially season 15
Its almost like how contestants are placed in the intro of ANTM. (I think the 3rd model to appear is most likely always the winenr of the season)
Watching the episodes I noticed Mik said she was first to walk in on her season but I think she forgot her season had that weird ass twist that would take two queens out
i wonder if utica and mik were the first pair to walk in, and they found out it, but we didn't know about it

i would guess that production has a "short list" of queens to put first and last to make an impact, and on the day of actually filming they might base the lineup on (a) that list, (b) the queens' looks (whether they catch the eye or not), and (c) last minute things like someone needs to pee or adjust their garment or someone's late. so this list does make sense with that
now i'd love to see a video about last to enter! so many icons come in last to get the other girls excited or gagged, like there's often a mysterious vibe about the last queen to enter! sasha colby, sugar & spice, the vivienne, cheddar gorgeous, shannel just recently, the list goes on.
The reason Shea was first to enter in AS7, I believe was they were doing the winning queens in reverse chronological order of when their seasons premiered.
So Shea from AS5, Jaida S12, Yvie, S11, Money & Trinity AS4, Jinx S5, Raja S3. The Vivienne was last since she is from the UK franchise (but chronologically, the Vivienne would have been after Jaida, since UK 1 premiered before S12)
A'Keria was my pick to win in both of her seasons 😭 I really hope the stars align for her to come back and snatch the crown one day 👑 ❤

It’s really interesting that with the exception of UKS3, each queen to enter first on a UK season is either a winner or a finalist. It will be interesting to see if Season 6 follows the trend.
Maybe Delta was first because she was 'casted' on that special first episode alongside Venus?
I think the entrances in AS7 went in backwards order of their seasons. Shea was the newest winner and Raja was the oldest. But i think the Viv was last for the gag of an international queen

Because there are almost always fewer queens ON all stars, the odds are better for the first one in to win statistically

I'm kind of surprised at the small Rock roasting because she definitely one of the most unique mugs and looks on Drag Race. Maybe it's because I don't go to a lot of in-person shows, but at least on Drag Race, no one has had a similar aesthetic to Rock's. (Maybe Aja on AS3 but the judges hated that.)
I think that in the split premiers, it started being that the winners of the premiers started being the “front runners” and so they didn’t also have those people come in first. Gigi/widow/jaida/sp, kornbread/angie, anetra, sapphira/plane
I'd think first and last to walk in usually is someone who already has fans (and for all stars they are usually the fan favourites).
I get Mera’s opinion about Aquaria but I think she’s the most versatile and chameleon winner we have. For me it’s way more interesting seeing her ability to transform herself and give us iconic looks and skilled makeup than someone like trixie that’s going to give you the same thing every time. Love u Mera.
First in usually seems to be someone they think can hold the room and be quick on their feet to banter with the Queens as they come in. They sometimes miss on that (Naomi S8, she was not the Queen she is now and I think Thorgy or Bob would have been a good first in) but mostly seems to be the case.
What was Shea’s entrance line in All Stars 7 (All Winners) because after seeing her orange look up there so long on the screen I thought of “orange you glad you called me … blaaaaaack??”
To be extremely fair most of those going on the tour are already doing or did the Vegas show or werk the world, i think Shannel is the only one who didn't do either but idk
Well Mera just said in this video that her and Scarlet went to Vegas Live and that Shannel was filling in as the host. So technically, she’s taken part.

It's not a setup haha, the first in is someone they expect to be a fan fave and to be a good narrator for the rest of the entrances. Likewise, the last in is almost always the gag casting of the season.

Looks totally random to me, you could make connections for anything and say it’s a pattern. We could take the fourth outs of each season and find through lines that “seem” to mean something, definitely doesn’t mean they do.

Well they don't know how the queens will perform when they create the lineup. I think it's more telling when the queen who entered first doesn't go far because it reveals that production THOUGHT they were gonna go far and be a league character. But unfortunately they didn't live up to what production might have wanted or hoped.

Sometimes the first queen in might just be the first queen ready.
I don't think it's that deep actually. The first girl has to be able to fill the first 2 minutes alone. And that queen is able to react to all the other queens. So what you need for a first in the werk room queen is a queen with a big personality and opinions. It makes sense for those kind of girls to make it all the way, cause they are funny and ru loves that. It also makes sense they can be the first one out, cause those kind of queens can also be a queen of big promises, but not that much talent.
Usually the ones that come in last do A LOT BETTER !!!

As for the AS9 tour, interesting to know GottMik and Nina won’t be there. But in terms of performances, it still feels ok. They might have other commitments, but tbh, they aren’t the “performers” of the cast; the format might not be fitting but this is just my humble opinion and what do I know anyway! 🤷🏽♀️
And Shannel had everything until to win that competition had she not given up I think the season may have even been designed for Shannel to win
Akiria has been sh*tted on for no reason by so many. People overwhelming the fan base in her original season for Ivey that was not NEARLY as consistent as her and far less enjoyable. But people yelled at any other fan despite the ivey package not being as strong as people made it out to be. I LOVE akiria!!! I feel like she is like kennedy. People don't love them despite them doing the most and being the best forms of themselves. People just are tone def to them for some reason. Maybe because they are not drama driven like others? It is such a waste of such amazing styles and art

For All Stars 10 they should have all the AS1 girls come back and compete independently on a non-elimination season. They won't likely, because it wouldn't be fair to Shannel since she'd have just come off AS9 and I'm sure there are some who wouldn't come back to compete, like Raven, but it would be nice if they would get a fair shot.

rockem and aquaria are leaps an bound more original than any others on this list. I love pep but she has only ever done other peoples looks that have been done at least 50 times publicly and famously. She just never claims to be fashion. The wearing everyone elses look fits better for the pageant and dance queens. They do boring and someone elses work every time.
You dont't have to like all drag artists. But to say they are pretending and acting trying to play a drag queen is just petty and insulting imo. this kind of attitude is exactly whats wrong with the fandom nowadays. you can have your opinion and all that on their art. but no reason to degrade any artist like that. Just cause it's not your style. everything is derivative of something else at this point. i mean what wholly original idea have you brought to the table with your drag, that was not inspired by anyone or anything else?
