      @Advsandeepsingh 6 лет назад +1

      absolutely!
      Saeed Anwar's ability to hit the ball was a class. which puts him above the rest of the openers.
      we also have legend like Sachin. who played only for his record and see he has so many runs on his name.
      his participation in India win was less. he was mostly self centered. no offence..

      I can't say about Pakistan but Indian constitution under article 18 prohibits any citizen to hold any title except for academic or military purposes. For example, Dr. Col. etc are allowed but rai bahadur etc are not. This prohibition also covers foreign titles like Sir, which is knighthood conferred by the Crown.

      Only citizens of Commonwealth Realm can be awarded knighthood and called 'Sir'. Pakistan, India or Sri Lanka do not fall under this category. Members of the Commonwealth Realm are Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, and the United Kingdom. People from other countries can be awarded honorary knighthood but they are not allowed to use 'Sir' or 'Dame' (as per gender) with their names unless they become British citizens. Hope that answers your question.

    I have never seen anyone as dangerous as Jayasuriya. He was the murderer of the cricket ball and he brought huge change in World Cricket. Akram is my all te favourite. His style and his out swing deliveries were unplayable. Up course he is a bowler , but I couldn't stop myself exalting this Southpaw. Saeed Anwar for his flamboyant batting and tremendous improviser. I still remember his 194 against India , the knock was outstanding. Sunil Gavaskar all time great from both the sides. No one stands with him when we compare. He scored runs against dangerous West Indies, Australia and Pakistan. Sachin is known for his 360 degree of game just like Lara. Sachin's two innings in Sharjah remains unforgettable till date. He cannot be compared with anyone as he is all time great cricketer. Javed Miandad was also a wonderful and solid batsman , who can forget his last ball six of Chetan sharma. He was also a short tempered man. Inzamam-ul-haq, a wonderful batsman , very talented and had the ability to cross any boundary. 1992 World cup semis against Kiwis , he changed the whole scenario. Mohinder Amarnath another great and solid batsman . We Indians cannot forget his contribution in winning the World cup. Yousuf youhana, another cricketer with solid batting ability. He, Younis Khan and Inzy were trio for Pakistan for 7- 8 yrs. Younis Khan another talented Pakistani , played cricket on his talent and style. He scored runs against every side. Straight bat and follow through was superb. Rahul Dravid, the man who became India's main batsman from 98 - 2010. Everyone looked on him when India went on to play in test cricket. He was solid in defence and was unbreakable till 2008. Laxman , a stylish batsman whose flick ,glance were outstanding. He was superb against Australia. No one can forget his 281 in Kolkata against Aussies. Azharuddin, he could win you any matches. A very darling and stylish batsman. Fearless cricketer and looked like didn’t have wrist. Sourav Ganguly, he came with back to back two centuries. He opened with Sachin to support him , but won many matches for India in ODIS with his flamboyant batting. His ability to go against any bowler especially in ODIS makes him a wonderful player. Yuvi, a talented left hander, who was successful in ODIS, but won many matches for India.
    Is 6 sixes still remains favourite of
    mine. Sehwag , one of the players who changed style of test cricket. No defence but go on attacking .There are many batsmen whose name had not been included , but they are also equally good leaving the modern era.

    Decent Analysis of great India n Pak batsmen. For Ind it's Sunil Gavaskar Vishwanath Lala Amaranth and for Pak it's Haneef Mohammad Mushtaq Mohammad n Zaheer Abbas in the past. But I feel that India has been a power house in batting in comparison to Pak. VVS Laxman has been my favorite batsmen in Test matches from 98 to 2012. He has performed brilliantly in Australia in Test matches. Laxman Sachin Ganguly n Dravid always performed like champions with bat in Australia South Africa New Zealand n England. Azhar bhai batted beautifully in his last days when match fixing scandal ended his career.

    Doc, I have a question. Oftentimes, we always say that batting and pace bowling separates India and Pakistan in cricket. However, given my limited cricket knowledge, I see there is no "wrist batsmen" like VVS and Azhar in Pakistan. Can you share some thoughts on it?

    • @niceguy5430

      Well best 'wrist batsman' with minimum back-lift in Pakistan (if not in world) was Inzamam-ul-Haq
