Truly ingenious, and yet, so simple! The concept of fastening the clay disk evaded me for so long, while and it turns out that all you need is a keyway shim!
You mean like a bearing block for a bow drill? That would introduce too much friction at the top of the spindle. Unless you find a way to build a primitive ball bearing. ;-)
Nej, jeg bor i tyskland. :-) But I did live in Denmark for a year when I was very little. Too little to remember anything, but it seems to have left a lasting impression, because I have since returned for many nice vacations!
Just a reminder: As always, this is a silent video with subtitles. Please turn on the video captions for my notes and comments.
This guy was literally like: Helpful, educational, and fun videos! (With a little bit of ASMR.)

cord/pump drills are also very useful for starting fires as well, if you aren't very skilled in the hand rubbing technique

Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!6-te
looks good ! is there any way to make top piece ?
> *IF* < that would work you could pump with one hand and increase pressure with the other
