    Truly ingenious, and yet, so simple! The concept of fastening the clay disk evaded me for so long, while and it turns out that all you need is a keyway shim!

    cord/pump drills are also very useful for starting fires as well, if you aren't very skilled in the hand rubbing technique

    looks good ! is there any way to make top piece ?

      You mean like a bearing block for a bow drill? That would introduce too much friction at the top of the spindle. Unless you find a way to build a primitive ball bearing. ;-)

      Nej, jeg bor i tyskland. :-) But I did live in Denmark for a year when I was very little. Too little to remember anything, but it seems to have left a lasting impression, because I have since returned for many nice vacations!
