It’s really amazing that interstellar overdrive came out 3 years before this though. I think Pink Floyd and Amon Düül II are the two best psychedelic bands ever. Capture it so perfectly. New band wise the best psych band is pond, their earlier work is like piper and yeti and they are my favorite psych band / favorite band in general ever. Talking 60’s & 70’s psych though Pink Floyd & Amon Düül II are the winners

Totally brilliant.. one of my departed uncle's favorite artists and always among my own top spacers. ..rather melancholic for me listening to this now, but it's even more awesome now with the jolly, drunken, spaced-out memories it stirred. ;)

18 minutes, plus two more extended Jams on this album one of which is 6 minutes and one of which is 9 minutes long. Pretty sure least 40% of this album is just doodling like this and I'm definitely not complaining. Amon Düül ii were good at that.

I think it was similar to earlier hippy music which unlike later Eurometal was generally socially progressive and generally about _being yourself_ and _letting anyone join in_ but in terms of the musical concepts it doesn't have the same ideas about musical warmth that American Pop Music or Country has. Culturally I'm not sure it's something that would exist now because we have qb easier time translating ideas etc.

Well yeah, thanks and kudoes to the bandmembers for gracing us with so much amazing music. But at the heart of it all I still thank Jesus (the Son of God) and God the Father/Creator for creating life and for creating humans, among whom are the various members of Amon Duul II and also for creating sounds, which can be fashioned into music.
And I'm a pretty left-wing guy myself BTW.
