- Luthier Jeffrey Yong made his first guitar in 1985 from a DIY kit and from there; he has acquired an insatiable passion and love for natural wood and the sweet sound that he can conjure from his guitar masterpieces.

I don't care if his guitar is out of tune, as long as he created it with his hearth that's ok. This man was just so amazing I love his story. He's just so pure and so underrated. I would love to have one of that guitar after I finish college here in Philippines.
I agree! I wish you the best of luck and hope you get that dream guitar!
I only recently discovered Jeffrey Yong . I admire & respect this man who makes instruments from local discarded resources. A. Hero in my world
If only I knew you Mr. Jeffrey when I work in Kuala Lumpur, I could have purchase one of your guitar,, how much is your hand crafted acoustic guitar made from local wood?
What a cool guitar and its sound
Beautiful sound from a tree that bears my favorite fruit.
i love this guy's work, but how could they release a recording where the guitar is out of tune...
He is a pro Luthier, so he thinks: "Tuning? im a Pro! don´t need that!",
just kidding, i would like to have one of these. looking like Art ;-)
Maybe he could play another tuned vlog.
I love the sound & look of Mango!
It's "Nyatoh" and not Natto. Just the spelling
Nice local wood guitar. Any special price for Malaysian ?
😆
Wow what a nice guitar your making! Where are you located?
Malaysia
Wow, what a beautiful sounding guitar ( just slightly out of tune) But never mind, it did sound nice 😊😊😊
malaysia are proud of u Jeffrey!!

There is no any link on Google or other websites...😥😥😥😥😥😥
www.jeffreyyongguitars.com/for-sale
What is the price of such guitars?
Do you still use do-it-yourself kit or was that just 1 time. I hope you sell many guitars and the world becomes full of friendly beautiful harmony ♡♡♡
The wood does matter whether it is traditional or not.
Ooi must have meant to say he's been working in jeff's shop 6 months not years,no?
change my heart o God ~u are the potter i m the clan~ good sound
i tested one of his guitar before. it was fking rm40k. i put it down sloowwwwwly
KeOKe BlackShot how much in $$
Barakoffee Eto 10000 USD i guess
KeOKe BlackShot 😫 aarghhh... Cant touch it....
Go to any event that he will be attending, maybe you'll get lucky :D
There are SO many possible factors, maybe he wasn't prepared to do the video, and just wanted to do a simple demonstration. I don't think this "one" time he decided not to tune the guitar should reflect anything. Ask the man himself, he has a website and everything. Also, please do not reply to this comment, I have spoken to enough people like you to know where this is going. You do not know enough bout Malaysians to speak. It's more CAREFREE in this case, hope you can LIGHTEN UP and see it.
This cat is special.
I highly applaud you Jeff and you are absolutely right. In America there are companies that have held a dynasty for far too long in this field of manufacturing. They maybe good, but maybe just so,so compared with superb builder's like yourself that are working to put these companies in their place so to speak and help them down from their high horse. Bravo Jeff You have succeeded at making a better wheel in the face of the status quo. To me the biggest crock of #$@% is this notion of tone woods .I for one think these unmentioned companies are way overrated . Some of the better brands are using cnc machines. This to me cancels out the craftsmanship. YOU KNOW!
yeah... strange how noone seemed to notice the guitar was out of tune when they made the video... the playing wouldn't look so bad if it was well tuned.
how do i contact this man?

Funny how a man can build such a beautiful guitar but couldnt get it in tune...
Be nice, he is a luthier not a guitarist.
made from the wood of a mango tree, in his friends back yard! hahahaha man that is so cool
I visited Asia, and it's hard to keep a guitar in tune over there, due to humidity levels, maybe that's why this video was done with this guitar out of tune
change my heart o God...
Indeed...beautiful song
The monkeypod is somewhat like koa wood. Jeffrey, the one you are holding is beautiful but the 'dragon' like inlay on the neck is a bit too gaudy for me. Overall, that's a fine acoustic guitar and it sounds great.
Sir? How much is your guitar? Steal string?
bobo
Yes i agree with you. L.luthier founder only played 20years or guitar. 😂🤣😂 we all knew
funny how he's still ahead of u in terms of playing and guitar making...
your guitar is not even tuned right
Is he a Filipino?
Dear Czar Duhaylungsod
hes a Sabahan (Malaysian). :D
I just met him at Guitar expo in sabah 2 days a go.. very friendly and humble person.
My ears hurt
Sounds like the mango tree is out of tune.
Great guitar, would sound even better IN TUNE!!!!
It's a Malaysian thing, not so much the luthier!
It's more of a "tidak apa" attitude, which means couldn't be bothered, or couldn't care less. Heck yeah we're proud of it!!
A luthier who can't tell when he's playing out of tune! That's a great advert for your business.
out of tune.. LOL
I love the look of his guitars. Seems to lack bass, probably due to the woods used.
