I love how this episode calls out people who mocked Jerry more than it was called for (probably because of their own insecurities) and now everyone takes a step back.
You prob know by now this is a take off on the Hellraiser series - In one of sequels one of the demons had a CD changer in his head which fired CDs at victims decapitating them. That was a rough Christmas. The first movie was a great horror movie. That was a fun Christmas
I enjoyed this one very much and it certainly made up for the previous episode. Also I was loving the family dynamic between Jerry, Beth and Rick especially when he forgives them for they felt bad for how poorly they treated him.
With last episode being the way that it was, to quote Yazz and the Plastic Population: "the only way is up!" This wasn't my favourite episode, but it did have a few moments that made me laugh, and the way they're taking Jerry's character is rather interesting. That said, it was definitely a missed opportunity to have Jerry bring up the karaoke booth having the whole Smash Mouth catalogue and NOT have him sing 'All Star'
Justin or Dan must love Clive Barker. That's twice that he's been referenced. This time it was this Hellraiser parody, and last time it was Summer being "Clive Barkered".
They're also referenced on Community where Shirley and Abed bond over the shared love of Hellraiser (so probably Harmon, although any person of culture should be literate in Clive Barker, especially The Great & Secret Show)
I bet they're going to do an episode where rick and morty will go to jessica's house with the mindblower machine to help her forget, kinda like the second episode of the first season where they went to the teachers house
Those creatures were a spoof of hellraiser, I've been watching those movies since before I was three. If you gals haven't seen it it would be fun to watch you gals react to it and see if you could Doctor who the situation before the end of the movie.

I wish people would stop complaining about other people's creative works and just learn to check out what else is on display instead. Taking a shit on it every time the opportunity presents itself is petty and borders on being a control freak.

Nah, criticism goes along with art made for entertainment. I liked the episode, but can see why people hate it. Even if not, I don't get this attitude that criticism is taboo.

@@MacGuffinExMachina Criticism can be constructive, or not. That falls on the people who voice their opinions, and some on the people who allow those opinions to tell them how to live.
I have always liked jerry, in fact one of the only things i didnt like about this season's 2nd episode was that jerry was uncharacteristically cowardly. Like yeah, it was a bit funny, but we've seen since at least season 2 that jerry is actually quite willing to fight even when he isnt capable. But at least those were fake jerrys and here we can see that the jerry we follow has actually progressed in character instead of devolving.
Also, given that as we go down the decoy line the Ricks get progressively lazier, it figures that the Jerry decoys would have the original's cowardice amplified to ridiculous levels
While this wasn't my favorite episode...compared to last week it was amazing. I really didn't like last week's episode. I'd say it was my least favorite episode of the entire series. It just wasn't that good, the humor was extremely hit or miss, and the story was gross. This episode, while not perfect, at least had some interesting parts along with some decent jokes sprinkled in. Luckily the next episode is MUCHHHH better.
@Gallifrey Gals Have you considered replacing the cartoon stuff with Star Trek: The Original Series and Classic Doctor Who? Wouldn't it go much better with the Star Trek: The Next Generation and New Who reactions? I also think it would be much more appealing to a much broader audience.

You may have not seen Jessica this episode, but you heard her. Jessica and the car are both voiced by Kari Wahlgren.
She also voices Diane. Might be something to read into that the car has a similar voice to Ricks wife...

It just occurred to me how cool it would've been if they'd managed to get Doug Bradley to voice one of the "Cenobites".

Personally I thought this was a weaker episode than episode 4. Still a pretty good Rick and Morty episode though.

You guys should check out the Morty/horse sperm episode! It was almost as good as the Morty gets a dragon episode.
