    I play tennis and all I can say is that I have massive respect for these people. The game is hard enough as it is... adding the complexity of controlling your wheelchair whilst holding your tennis racquet and having to keep track of the ball whilst almost being at the same level as the net... Wow, just WOW!!

    I'm genuinely amazed by watching this, it just looks fucking impossible. These guys could absolutely annihilate me at a game of Tennis with no use of their legs! The speed and accuracy of their movement is stunning to behold

    • @sorayabunny
      @sorayabunny 7 лет назад +4

      It's true they would have difficulty competing against an able bodied player simply because the ab player is physically taller than somebody who is sitting, and they can move around the court faster. So, these guys play on a different level altogether. However, these are professional athletes who train a hard as any other and who have phenomenal upper body strength. When you think that some of these players have no control over their abdominal muscles, it's amazing they can even sit up, let alone hit a tennis ball with such strength and accuracy. If you think this is all "political correctness," that says far more about you than any wheelchair sportsman or woman.

      you realize they get 2 bounces right. if it was 1 bounce rule, they would get destroyed by any 2.5+ player

      Yes it's not exactly the same game as standing tennis. Nevertheless, world class athletes. Could you beat them at a game of wheelchair tennis?

    why in the world would the commentator describe Kunieda's performance as a walk in the park could you be more insensitive.

    • @eaglesandowls
      @eaglesandowls 3 года назад

      It would not be insensitive to most wheelchair users. While I can't speak for all wheelchair users, most still use phrases like the commentator did and "going out for a walk" even if they don't literally mean it.

    People who have disabilities, and also have the same drive as able body's to win and be the best. Are truly better and more skilled in every aspect of sports. I cannot imagine how much dedication it must take to obtain such a great level of skill, against overwhelming odds.

    my recomendation to chair tennis as a sport. take two long ribbons, place them parallel to the sideout lines make the court a bit smaller and people will see better tennis ! its not much effort and will make the game much more spectacular.

    I’m sure I could beat these guys on two legs but I seriously question whether I could actually get into the points I don’t doubt that I would beat them in any long rally it’s just a question of whether I could get their serve in and hit mine in without it being an instant winner comparing an amateur on two feet with a decent serve to theese guys would give me a better idea whether I could actually handle their serve or not
