  • Developed a new experiment with
adding a pre-amp EQ and some
    compressing to boost the sound
    out of the cutting head.
we learned that using blank records
from Gakken are too noisy so we
found the solution 😉 and produced
better results sound after cutting with
    clear PETG BLANQ Vinyls records
    for a cheaper price.
    but it's a fascinating experience
for someone that wants to cut
vinyl records as a practice tool.
    PETG Blanqs makes it sound
    better with lo-fi quality.

Awesome results with the PETG! How thick are the blanks you used - 1mm, 1.5mm, or 2mm?

      @EthicRadioArchiveReels  3 года назад +1

You can us either or I used 1mm and 1.5mm for cutting on Gakken. Thanks for commenting 🙂

I like the novelty toy cutters.
    Nice work.
I come from cutting pro acetates and laquers but the Gakken and T.E machines are cool. Many of my friends are experimenting with these.
Have you tried cdrs or blank Flexi discs yet?

Definetly one of the best results I've heard, if not the actual best. Awesome! 😄
I see that you're using 3" instead 5". Is that just a size preference, or do you find that the less flexibility of the smaller plate gives it less wobble?
I was looking into the 5" ones, but don't know if I should choose 1.5 or 2 mm thickness. What would you recommend? Just to experiment and figure out myself? 😁

Nice results! I don't see a lot of swarf coming off during cutting. Is that a difference between using the PETG BLANQs vs. the blanks from Gakken?

  • @dja1640

those clear blanqs are definitely not 3". they're more like 5" blanks but great job on the recording. I was able to have success with Ableton and Pro Q3 eq
