The Korean April 25 Film Studio, has created and released the art film One day, one night, based on the real story of Comrade Ra Myong Hui, a hero and war veteran, who engraved a valuable feat on the sacred path of defending the leader.
A preview of the art film “One Day, One Night” was held at the Pyongyang International Film Center on the 9th April, 2022.
Through the day and night struggles of an ordinary maiden nurse who overcomes life-threatening hurdles and exposes the secrets of the conspiracy of anti-party counter-revolutionary factions, the film tells the story of a day and night struggle to defend her leader and protect her system. It clarifies the theme idea that this is the duty of citizens of the country..
The high ideological and spiritual world of the protagonist, who devoted her life to defending Comrade Kim Il Sung, aroused passionate sympathy from the audience.
The film will soon be screened in central and provincial cinemas and cultural centers.
In every video of a North Korean woman speaking I've seen, she always sounds like she's about to burst into tears.
Then you've only watched a handful of videos like documentaries or trailers where they talk exaggerating the emotions. That's just considered a normal way of expressing emotions. If you watch KCTV News every day, you will find anchors and women in road interviews talking not so emotionally.

Outside of the small handful of wonderful people I've had the pleasure of meeting who have fled NK (I live in the US, but I work in Seoul), most of the videos I've seen are the personal accounts of life In the DPRK from defectors over on the Asian Boss channel.
It's because Kim Jong Un is standing behind them with a gun making sure they don't say anything they aren't supposed too.

Like, it's like they're no longer "stuck in the 90s" like we're used to say.
Yes! Their photography, cinematography, video editing skills, and picture quality have all modernized in recent years at par with world standards.
Especially KCTV of these day as compared to in 2012 are unrecognisable.
@@ExtremelyRareDPRKvideosThe effects are modern and all that, but I can't help but feel that there's a strong contemporary PRC influence in the font choices and editing. It feels like a trailer for a documentary to be broadcast on CCTV-9.

I have to say, for a North Korean film, it looks oddly promising. And I have to be a logo nerd - their new film studio logo is sweet! Smooth animation, a brand new soundtrack, dynamic lighting, AH!

Does anyone have an explanation why North Korea hasn't released a movie from 2016 to 2022? How come this is the first movie in half a decade? Do they release series on TV instead?
My theory is that since the 7th WPK Congress in 2016, they invested the resources into building satellite and developing nuclear deterrence that resulted in rise in tensions with US and worsening of sanctions and even China and Russia participating in it.
There was even a severe flood in 2016 for whose victims they built 11000 houses.
And despite that they continued to build the Ryomyong Street and completed it in 2017.
In 2018, they spent the resources into the mass games.
Then they started making this movie in 2019 and it was completed in 2022.
And yes, they did produce many dramas between that time.
Way more interested to see this than some superhero movie or whatever
