It's amazing how long it took me to find this video, which covers *exactly* what I needed. It wasn't complicated once it was laid out. Thank you SO much!
two years later and this video is still helpful, was going crazy for hours regarding python-decouple package and running in iTerm vs vscode provided two different results. Thank you for sharing and explaining
Wow, spent the past hour trying to figure this out for the Beautiful Soup module in VSCode. This video was exactly what I needed. Thanks so much for providing brother.
Ok so I selected a specific python interpreter in VScode, however, the terminal still doesn't reflect to the selected python interpreter. It seems like you are suggesting there is no easy way to handle the selected python interpreter within VSCode, but I should open a separate command line prompt if I want to say pip install new libraries for the selected python interpreter, is that right?
Man, You should explain how to CREATE a new python interpreter path. In my case I have a new python.exe in my folder. However when I select it. It does not recognize the interpreter. Changing from already installed interpreters is trivial from that option...
Command 'Python: Select Interpreter' resulted in an error. command 'python.setInterpreter' not found (edit: OK, in case it helps someone else who came here looking for the answer, solution is to click on the restricted window on the bottom and trust the folder)
I've seen other teachers just click the run code play button, why are you saying we have to type the "python3 "filename.py" command just to run the code?? Your method works for me and runs the code, but when I click the run code play button in the top right hand corner, I get an error that say: /bin/sh: 1: python: not found ". I have python 3.9.2 installed. Also, when I go to RUN > Run Code Without Debugging, the code will execute without any errors. So my question is: Why can't I use that run code play button in the top right hand corner like my instructors are in their course videos? It's driving me crazy!!
what if it still says module not found. I am trying to install selenium vs code mac. Chose python 3.8 intepretter tried my pip3 install selenium. I also entered interpreter path by clicking on + but it still throws an error.
Hi, I just installed VSCode in my MacBook Air m1 and trying to learn python after installing code runner and creating a sample print( ) code and hitting run code in OUTPUT it says "/bin/sh: python: command not found [Done] exited with code=127 in 0.008 seconds.
what if my desired interpreter doesnt appear in the list of intepreters available, but definetly exists. its just that i dont want to search for it every time and i want vscode to detect it automatically. how can i add an intepreter (in a venv) to that list?
