Are you making reparation this recorder? I have same, what not works, seams something with CPU, because can not switch speed. bridge not reacting, etc.
Enjoying music on it might still be counter productive as it seems that it was designed for mastering tapes, editing and reviewing not everyday music playback.... :)
I think the machine don't care if you use it for mastering or just listen music with it........... Such machines like all reel to reel recorders need to be used! Otherwise they will go defect..... That's a fact.

Obviously for mastering. Not a machine you would want to destroy by using it as a duplicator ;)

Why are there 3 x VU meters ??? i would only expect to see 2 x meters is one for setting bias EQ levels ???? confused
The 3rd is timecode, you can record an accurate clock pulse on the tape with this machine and many of the later pro recorders.
