The best Wario Land game, and one of the best platformers I've ever played. Such an underrated game. Something I love about games, is to come back to a place you visited earlier on, only to find out there's more to it than you thought. Wario Land 3 have you explore levels, and find that many passages are blocked off in some way. The awesome thing is how you actually see how you unlock levels, you see the landscape change, you see new doors opening in previous levels, you learn new moves, which allows you to go back to previous levels and reach new places that you couldn't before. MAN this game is awesome.
wwwwario Really? I hated the fact that the game punished you by making you wait for upwards of 30 seconds every time you were hit instead of just taking a heart away. I prefer Virtual Boy Wario Land. I also didn't like the way that the 'new moves' you learned were moves that Wario should've already had and not interesting upgrades to his moves as we know them. For example, a mid-air shoulder charge upgrade would've been cool.
+wwwwario Growing up with this game. I have to agree it was great... But that Golf Mini Game can go die in a fire... and you had to do it HOW many times?
Why don't they make games like this anymore? So many clever twists to the normal platforming genre, cleverly using enemies as both an inconvenience and your "power-ups". No need for a number of lives and health system while still offering a good amount of challenge. The levels you have seen before change and have more pathways available to them and the level select system doesn't make backtracking tedious. T_T Easily an under-rated classic. Fits up there with banjo kazooie IMO.
Easily one of my most favorite GBC games I owned. High replay value and a solid adventure themed platformer. I burned through many a double A battery getting my money's worth from this gem.
This game is a masterpiece. Unique ideas, one after another, executed in an extremely clever way, a literal hundred times. So underrated. Should be used as an example of perfect video game design.
This game is so good I want to replay so bad and bring back childhood memories, it was very creative of them to make you replay previous levels to uncover more secrets than their was previously.
This is why i love this game : Every power up you get shows how wario got to his best potential (the costume) , which ALSO carries over to Wario Land 4, but only after losing these powers after getting here, since he had these skills in Wario Land 2
It's sorta an Metroidvania style thing. If he had all his moves retained from Land 2, than this game will become very short, very easy & less replay values. Thank goodness it didn't.
Raccoon Foot Productions That would be awesome! They could just take Wario Land VB, expand it and make the graphics work on 3DS and you would easily habe Wario Land 5.
wario world? eh lol its wario land...... u might as well call super mario world super mario land or disney world disney land or world wide web land wide web or land lide leb rather lol
Honestly this game takes me back. Back in the day, I traded a copy of super mario world to a friend for this game. I used to play it at airports and on planes whenever I went somewhere.
I remember doing the mission that you show at 24:00 on daytime instead of nighttime like you did and I didn't like being burned by the sun, but I completed it thanks to the restore points in the 3ds virtual console version
What I like about this game is the tremendous amount of replay value. Not only can you challenge yourself to get all of the treasures, but you can challenge yourself even further by going for all the music note coins (even if the reward is just another course in that irritating golf minigame).
The Golf Minigame is one of the few imperfections in the whole game. It's not actually bad at all once you understand how the 'ball' is properly hit. But figuring that out is in fact unintuitive - I can imagine countless players slipping on their face several times before getting how to play it. And if you want to go 110%, you can try to get the lowest possible score for each golf course (which is not even covered in this TAS).
I wish the game gave you more powers instead of stripping you of all the WL2 moves at start. But the meteoroid stile game play isn't all that bad compared to the older games. Personally i liked Warios virtual land more than the GB games.
N1 is the first gray chest. ( duh ) W1 is the first red chest. N3 is the first green chest. W2 is the first blue chest. S6 is the last gray chest. E6 is the last red chest. E6 is the last green chest. N1 is the last blue chest.
so many things in this game that made me 😯😮 the volcano exploding, appearance of the warped void, above the clouds being a stage and that we can enter the freakin moon.. and a lot more!
I beat this game a few years back and i don’t remember doing any of this at all. Haha! Of course some jerks broke into my truck stole my gba and my entire gameboy game collection. It sucked. Now im slowly getting my library back. Im watching this vid, maybe because i miss the game. 😔
Man, the vine traversing skills you have on Bank of the wild river after you got the final swim power up we’re amazing.... I could never do it that fast and spent many hours getting through that
I just rebought a game boy color and games. This was my favorite game as a kid and I got it back! Thanks for this video because it’s really helping me! By far the best game ever. Better then super Mario brothers and donkey Kong. Forever a favorite

Good god. I had this as a kid but for the life of me I never completed it so matter how much I played it over from the start. Now this video can give me some closure.
this game gave me nightmares as a kid, i remember i 'woke up' and the intro with the airplane was playing on a tv in my room and then the screen got all staticy and turned red and started beeping real loud :-(

Well, nothing else online seems to say how the coin cost for the mini-games increases, so I think I have a theory I've tested a few times. It depends on how many chests you have already opened before. 25 jacks it up to 30 and 50 up to 50.
I love this game still have the original cartridge of the gbc here and damn that was an amazing plattformer. I remember getting stuck several times but not in a frustrating way rather I had to think which power up unlocked diffrent paths fort the levels I already visitid and so backtracking was rly good and rewarding compared to other games a real gem from the gbc library

Apart from that, yeah, more new stuff would have been nice.
+wwwwario Growing up with this game. I have to agree it was great...
But that Golf Mini Game can go die in a fire... and you had to do it HOW many times?
Now you an get this from My Ninendo for 40 gold coins! :)
I loved the gold mini game, I used to do it many times in a row xD it wasn't that hard to do with some practice
They should make a Wario land game for the switch.
I agree

Shake It didnt sell well. Thats pretty much why. Its sad cuz it was a great game.
I've always found it strange that Smash Brothers never gave Wario his signature shoulder bash.
Mephiste Sulfurion iirc, it was in Brawl as his side-smash, but was removed in Smash 4.
Mephiste Sulfurion Sakurai doesn't really know what a Wario is, just look at him farting as a special attack ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I remember the huge sense of relief I felt when I acquired the Blue Treasure in Above the Clouds: it meant I would never have to go there again.
IS not until the end of the game that we realize that the things we were killing were actually old ladys and guys

I agree. I love Land 3 so much. It's almost as like an Metroidvania style of a game and I'm an big fan of games with an Metroidvania style.
Agreed. 3 & 4 should be the standard for platforming.
3 in Metroidvania genre
4 in Quality over Quantity
THE FEELS, THOSE NOSTALGIC FEELS. I haven't played game since probably 2001.

This is one of the greatest games I had as a kid. It took me several years to finish :p. Nice tas!
It took me bloody weeks to defeat the final boss, this dude did it in a second
That really rustles my jimmies
It is tool assisted. Is the final boss really that difficult? :D

It's so weird to see; I thought I completed the game twice, with all the treasures... Now it seems that there are places where I've never been!
This was one of my favorite games as a kid. I can't believe how vivid it still feels now. Nostalgia is so real
This was the very first game I ever got. Way back when it first came out. I played this for hours and hours. Still my favourite Gameboy Colour game.
