Alabama at its worst is bad. Alabama at their best can beat anyone: Georgia, Oregon, Texas, Ohio State.
You can’t say that about SMU, Indiana, Arizona State and Boise State.
We need only Teams who can beat anybody in the Playoffs.

Kirby Smart has NEVER lost to Tennessee. Let that sink in.. Once you do, you will realize, it's not impressive when 5 star tOSU beats them. tOSU is on the level of Georgia & Alabama talent wise. They have NFL/SEC talented players all over the field. Like literally, what are you talking about?

If you are talking about college football and the words "nfl draft picks" exit your mouth, you shouldn't be talking about the sport.
Part of being a good team is winning games and being consistent. If you lose 25% of your games, you don't deserve to be there.
Record is the ONLY way to evaluate teams. Imagine you were a high school football team that won every game, but got left out of the playoffs because some committee just "felt" like someone was better than you because they had more guys sign with colleges.

If John thought any part of Tennessee belonged in that game then we watched 2 different games. Tennessee's defense were so outmatched Ohio State could've won by 50 if they had kept their starters in. Howard was throwing for over 10 yards per pass attempt and completed 24 of 29 and that was in the frigid cold where the ball is hard as a rock.
But here's what no one is talking, in a smaller playoff, even an 8 team playoff, Ohio State wasn't even top 2 in the Big 10, they wouldn't have gotten in to the playoff and now they're Colin's pick to win it all. Any other year Ohio State would've played Tennessee in the Cotton Bowl or something and that would've been the end of their season. We would've been sitting here wondering what would've happened if Ohio Sate had gotta chance to play for the title.

@@gonzokaepernick8155 that’s exactly where I got my information! Oregon spent 23 million,Texas spent 22.2 OSU 20.2 and LSU spent 20.1. Maybe you should take your own advice and actually do the research. What’s your source?

If we go off of SOS almost solely, this will cause the majority of teams not to be even in contention... I can not wait until the SEC just sucks one year and they don't even have someone in the playoffs... All these people are just trying to make excuses to get bama in no matter what (dont even try to lie)... Record has to matter... If you lose three games and everyone else only lost one, you should not be considered even if your team name is Alabama period...

Good thing we finally went to a Playoff to end all the controversy about who deserves to play for a championship. 🙃

Tennessee also got in and got their crap rocked way harder than Indiana. I dont understand, would it have made you feel better to watch alabama get waxed by notre dame? Because we already saw them get waxed by OKLAHOMA. Indiana won 11 games. Alabama did not. End of story

You both have valid points. But I doubt Alabama this year would have done much better than Tennessee or Clemson. Also, the final four teams will be the best four in college football this year.

2014 OSU enter the B1G championship as a #6 DOG!!
We know how that ended. They played with and rowed BAMA and OREGON

“Rowed”? The Bama game was close and Kiffin abandoned the run with D Henry. Otherwise, game over and we all know it.

All of the SEC dog whistling is crap. Bama lost 3 games. Two of them were to basement dwellers and the other was to the team that got dogwalked by OSU.
Ohio State finally put it all together. It took being embarrassed by Michigan for them to cleanse all the BS from the team and coaches and just step on the gas. Nobody is stopping that Buckeye team if they continue to show up.
And Oregon paid more for their team btw.

Not sure who this guy is, but his argument doesn't make sense. Forgives TN getting blown out because of "bad QB" play, even though the whole team was getting beat. Whereas, SMU was very much in it on defense and offense if not for their QB completly succumbing to the situation.

Teams that get coverage gets recruits. Both Indiana and SMU will not be as good but will actually benefit from being marketed and be positioned to build. Of course they will need to make the most of being seen. If they can finish high enough to be included again.

So what you are saying is that no matter how poorly a team performs, we should let them into the playoffs? Alabama lost to Oklahoma, the worst Oklahoma team we have seen in years. The regular season has to matter.
