Nidoran was helpful this run, but I was surprised when Nidoran went that crazy. Nidoran really pulled the weight for Nidoran.

@@jonsmith5058 many people, myself included, love the in-jokes, references, etc. because we are 'in' on them, and it can add another layer of fun comedy to things, because it is like being rewarded for having seen the prior content

I'd like to see you take on a Pokémon Gold using only a team of branched evolution pokémon. So Eevee, Slowpoke, Gloom, Tyrogue, and Poliwhirl. I just think that'd be neat.
Yeah but those Pokémon are pretty good by MDB standards so it’d be a sweep of dynamic strategy
It's funny that all the branched evolutions are gen1/2 mons (except eevee)

But Eevee showed up in gen 1... how do you figure lol. Every one of the pokemon he mentioned there aside from Tyrogue literally were in gen 1 first and got the branch in 2. And of course, Tyrogue is the baby of the hitmons. Which also got an extra branch technically in 2. Is it cuz Eevee got more branches later? Because I don't think that changes that Eevee was a gen 1 mon.
@@EarthboundmikeI think they meant that all of the others are cross-gen evolutions, but so is Eevee? Maybe because Eevee also has evolutionary relatives from generations 4 and 6, while the others only feature generations 1 and 2 in their lines?

It's always fun to see how different the same run can be between generations, it's also surprising just how much the TM moveset of the Nido lines does even when unevolved.
Week 2 of requesting a challenge run with only one Swablu!
Challenge Suggestion: "Weakness cycle team". Lemme explain. You pick 3 pokemon to use. 1 water, 1 fire and 1 grass. Since you automaticly get one of them as a starter you can freely pick which starter you want. (or UPR another you wanna start with) After that you pick a pokemon of the two other types, catch them and then you have your team. I believe it is possible. Im mostly interrested in how you´ll do it. Doesnt matter what gen you choose

I think it'd be cool if you used the Gen 1/2 era art in the thumbnails for challenges of the older games. It'd make it easier to tell what game the challenge is in at a glance, and also the old art has a really neat style!

The two Nidoran really make steadfast allies and great friends. Speaking of friends, did you know that Lopunny is the only pokémon to ever learn Return naturally? As such, it'd be a really fun mon for a Platinum Solo!
Very excited for a diamond/pearl run!! I think they have become over looked with platinum existing. Most major fights are different.

1:06 what’s funny is that growing up playing Pokémon Stadium, I always thought Nidoran🚺 looked so cool using blizzard. Like the light blue color of it always struck me as ice type
Oh! I just got a great idea for a challenge! What if you did a run with only moves that lock you into using them like Thrash, Rollout, and Outrage? That could be a neat idea!
I think the only problem with this is, a lot like the only peck run is that it doesn't really have any strategy. It's just level up until the move does enough damage to win. I'm not sure how interesting that would be to do or watch.

Yes! I love Nidoran, Nidorino, and Nidoking. I expect that you will have a tough time, but be able to win with coverage
(2:10) Yeah, it's ridiculously dumb that Double Kick is learned so late in Red and Blue, but they fixed it to be a much more reasonable level 12 in Yellow.

I have an idea for a red run. 3 eevees you evolve each one into Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon.
The Eevee only runs on entertaining but you really don't have that much more variety and I think this would make it more interesting
He could also do a Fire Red run with Espeon and Umbreon as they're the only eeveelutions not available in Kanto Gen 3 unless you trade.

I vote for any future Ditto runs to be tag team runs with two Dittos that way you can refresh transform mid battle.
I think a Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee and hitmontop run would be fun. There's a lot of type coverage between those three

You should do a full team run where you only use moves with 40 base power or less - but you can use any pokemon you want. I’ve done this and it’s actually really fun
Have you done a run where you pick the most powerful single pokemon to see how fast and early you can clear the whole game with them? Basically an easy mode run. I just think it might be entertaining to see what pokemon you pick for each version of the game and what makes it the best option to handle the various gyms and elite fours without stalling out.
I wonder if there’s a gen 1 rom where the important fights have good move sets.
Technically yes, it's called Blue Kaizo but it's brutally unforgiving and not really meant to be balanced (or fun)

So, some ideas for future runs:
A Vulpix only run in either Platinum (should be easier of the both) or Soul Silver. In Soul Silver you should take a whole team, otherwise it is most likely impossible.
Second for an easy time (overall): an Eeveelution run in Platinum! 6 are possible for the Team, but you have 7 as a possibility. The evolution stones should all be obtainable in the underground. Have fun with that! Take it as a relaxing one, you need those too!
Third: how about another team run. Can you beat Pokémon Crystal as Elite 4 Bruno? I'm actually not sure at all about this one. I suppose you reach the Elite 4 just fine, but i'm not sure, about the rest. His Pokémon aren't too bad, but i'm not sure about the moves.
More tag team runs sounds fun. Gen 3 with minun/plusle or volbeat/illumise? Something like that might be neat too

I really like these tag-team runs. Maybe try an all first stage starter team in the future?
Seems like these Nidoran knew The Way. Also, I know you don't do a lot of newer games for runs but running Sword and Shield with just Stunfisk would make another good tag run I'd think.

Hey, Mahdrybread! Question for you :) have you considered playing on set mode for these multiple pokemon challenges to make it a little more difficult? It'd make it where you don't get a free opportunity to change pokemon when the opponent is sending out a new pokemon.
It would be really cool to see a Pokemon Red/Blue run with only beginner level starter pokemon. Or any generation run with only beginner level starters!
say Mah-Dry-Bread, why do you always miss the second rival fight (before fighting brok) by going to the elite four early? wouldn't the XP gained help a little bit more early game?
I have an idea for a fun challenge, One that means you could even use Drowzee. Can you beat Pokemon Black (Or any game from gen's 5 ,6 or 7) with only the move Assist? Purrloin learns Assist at level 6 so it'd be the starter, Then if you get a male Purrloin you can breed it with other's to get more Pokemon. I think this would be a great wacky challenge since the more Pokemon on your team the more random the move is.
For any that don't know Assist uses a random move known by any of the user's party Pokémon, With some exceptions. So even Pokemon that can't use Assist would still be useful if they have good moves that Assist can use. Drowzee is in the Human-Like Egg Group so If you want one with Assist you'd need a Spinda since they're in the Field and Human-Like Egg Groups so can breed with Purrloin and Drowzee. You could also use a Chimchar as a starter if you give it Assist as an Egg Move, They're also in the Field and Human-Like Egg Groups so a male one can breed the move into any Pokemon with Assist.
not a big fan of the red/blue runs... i prefer gen 3 and one due to abilities which makes it feel a bit more strategic. But other than that: thumbs up + keep up the work, MDB! long time enjoyer here :)
You could do exclusive pairs, such as sandshrew with ekans, evolution optional. I think meowth is paired with something (or just not wild in yellow.)

I am once again asking for Emerald as Wally. If it feels too weird to go from just Ralts for 3 gyms to then a full team, just pick them up as you would in a normal game. I just wanna see a Wally run man :'(
Idea for challenge run; generation 1 run where you are defeated by each gym leader with a main Pokemon in your party. Also, a run on an Island of Sodor mod in the style of the first mod video.
If you think RBY Blizzard is good, you should see JP Red and Green Blizzard. It has a 3 in 10 chance to Freeze like how Thunder has the 3 in 10 chance to Paralyze. So JP Blizzard essentially Horn Drill, but when it misses you get the 120 power Ice move anyway.
