This is a VERY well made and beautifully scenic video. I was born 25 miles from the Cumberland Gap and in 1957 we lived in a log house at the foot of the White Rocks. Almost 50 years ago my dear Dad led us up from Rose Hill, Va to see the Sand Cave. Seeing your video took me back and I could see that it is virtually unchanged even though we saw it in July. Thank you for allowing me to see this lovely area again and as a snowy, winter wonderland!!
Epic trip bro!! I know that hiking out of there had to be tough. It sure was beautiful out there with the snow and overlooks. Awesome video Nick 👍🏻👍🏻👊🏻
5:24 i’m out on the trail right now watching your video. It’s inspire me to push my miles today it’s gonna be a light one though we’re only gonna be around 12.miles
Beautiful. If I was on the side of a mountain and it snowed a foot overnight I'd be more worried about getting off the hill, but nope, coffee and admire the beauty, now there's confidence. Beautiful scenery and perfect music. Thank you.
awesome video, you guys earned it, the snowfall i"m sure made it a lil tougher, my granny, betts anne hensley marcum was from the settlement, so my roots go back there, its a special place for sure, thanks, good job.
I found your video while trying to do some research on the Ridge Trail - I'd like to hike it soon. Very well done video. You really did a great job. I love hiking in winter and now I'm thinking of doing this trail during the winter instead of the fall. I'm not sure. Anyway, this was great! Dane
Thank you for watching! This trail would be great in fall or winter! Fall colors would hit closer to late October. We did a section of the Pine Mountain Trail, just north east of Cumberland Gap on the weekend of Halloween and hit fall colors at the perfect time.
Thanks for taking me back on this trail. I did it about 50 years ago. It hasn't changed a bit. I will be checking out some more of your videos. Keep up the good work. Beautiful!
Great video my dude! Love you showing all the antics we got into along the trail, and you got some amazing shots and stills of the snow and ice! Love the new effects you added with the photography! Keep it up!
This was a great way to start my day. Awesome work! You did a great job capturing the feeling of this trip. And what a trip it was. It sets a high bar for the rest of the year for me. I especially enjoyed all the blizzard shots, and I also like the photo effect with the stills. My favorite shot is the one where you walk out onto the White Rocks and see the view for the first time. This is my first time seeing a trip I was on from someone else's perspective. It's fascinating. Check out the doofus at 12:30 with one glove missing and his hood on the side of his face! Thanks for sharing, Nick. Looking forward to more!
yes, the moment they walk out to the white rocks to look over, scared me that you looked so close to the edge, i know how it feels, been there , but not in winter, the view from white rocks on a pretty fall day is just breath takin, thanks again.
Loved your video! We love hiking in the snow and ice in the Smokies and now we need to check this place out. I’ve been wanting to see the Sand Cave. Great editing, love the music and love being able to still hear the foot steps along the trail as you’re hiking..(if that makes sense) Makes us feel like we’re on the trail too.:)
nice adventure! i hiked a loop there last Feb (gibson gap, i think it's called) some buttkicking elevation and not any views from that portion of the ridge trail. your trip looked far more scenic!
Doing that exact hike in about a month. This vid gets me even more pumped!!
That's awesome! I hope you have a great time!

Yeah folks thought we were crazy! Have to admit we were worried a little, but it was too late for that 🤣. Took it in stride and made the best of it!

@@Smokeybeesnatural My goal for the weekend is to put some serious work into mine. Maybe another week or so!
Don't worry, if I get myself in gear and film another video this weekend, I may give you something else to do! 🤣🤣 #myfavoritetrail

Thank you for the wonderful compliment! Sand Cave is a must!
Can you really see Clingmans Dome from there? I was here a while back and had no idea.
It was fairly overcast when I was there, but if I could see Mt.LeConte, I'm sure you could on a clear day.
@@Smokeybeesnatural I appreciate you replying. I enjoy your channel.
Thank you for watching!
depends on the day, air quality and all, but still you can see for miles and miles.

Curious what vistas we missed on day 2 due to the snow and clouds. What we did see was breathe taking! Can't wait to return. Thank you for watching!
Just down the road from me. Hike it a about four times.
If I was closer, I'm sure I'd hike it quite often!
4:30 are you guys Hiking under 5000 feet elevation for over 5000 feet elevation
Below 5000.
