Great Episode. I'm fortunate to have a couple cards from the under the radar sets. 1952 Derek Ross Minnie Minoso, 1954 Red Heart Minnie Minoso, 1964 Orlando Cepeda Standup (love how they look in SGC slabs) and 1975 SSPC Billy Williams. Now you have me searching for 1964 Tops Giants and other SSPC cards.
1959 and 1960 Topps are both great sets with great designs. Ted Williams missed out not being in those sets, but so did we. Good points on the Fleer Williams cards.
Great guest in Dan. Fun fact about the SSPC name. In talking with Andrew Aronstein who is Mikes son . He said his dad knew he would be sued by Topps so he set up a new company to keep it separate from his TCMA company
Just bought 3 more SSPC PSA 9’s. Got the Aaron, Mays, and Winfield for about $120. Almost forgot about this set. Thanks Mike, great show snd great guest.
Definitely one of the most interesting episodes published recently. Fantastic topic & especially dialogue between Mike and Dan. While I may not agree all these sets fly under the radar, that doesn’t matter. These two gentlemen, presented each set in an informative and factual way that had me rethinking my opinion of each. Also enjoyed how both talked about their strategies for completing specific sets in the conversation. there does seem to be so many “Mantle” rules & strategies in the hobby from the early 1980s that remain in-play today. Wonderful episode!
Great topic. I love the ‘64 Stand-Ups - slowly working on a HOF set. The photos are mostly unique from anything else Topps put out. Someday I need to start the ‘59 Williams set, I have always liked it. I have always wondered if the ‘56 Bowman version would have been larger like ‘55 Bowman or smaller like ‘57 Topps and the ‘58 Hires. I didn’t know the stadium aspect of the ‘55 double plays. That is really cool. Red Heart Musial is at the top of my want list. Love the Wilson Franks - Williams is the lone HOFer I need and not sure I will ever pay up for it.
Great episode with an awesome guest! Fun Fact: There was actually a 1923 Fleer baseball card set of 60 hand cut strip cards, designated as W515 of which there are also blank backs. It was only the one year and they did nothing again until the 59 Williams set.
Awesome Mike! I was about to write to you and ask you to do the 51/52 Berk Ross talk. Just want some knowledge about sets like these. Awesome episode. I listen to your show went I edit photos at work (and it keeps me from falling asleep because I just want to absorb everything you guys talk about). Good stuff keep it up!
Curious where Berk Ross cards were sold? All over nationally? Were they in packs with gum? How and where would a kid in 1951 and 1952 have gotten these? Great show and very informative Mike and Dan. Thank you!
Mike and Dan, this was a wonderful video! It was very educational and exciting! I would love to see you do another 12 sets from the 50's and 60's!
We might have to do that Rick.
Good show. Love these types of sets.

'76 SSPC shot entirely at Shea (Yankees were tenants 1974-75) by a non-Keith Oldermann. Olbermann did write the back bios, however.
Thank you both for a great episode! I really love the Red Man cards too and feel they deserve a mention as well!
Red Man !
That's another good one!!
Enjoyed the conversation and look at the various sets
I like the 64 stand-up
The 55 Double headers
The 64 Giants
Gave a video like as always - Enjoyed the great conversation! Really fun topic, thanks for sharing.

Good points on the Fleer Williams cards.
Totally agree
Go Dan!
Dan did a fantastic job as usual.
This episode was way overdue! Great job guys!!!
Thanks Gary. Appreciate it.
Enjoyed the episode guys. Love the non-standard sets as they often have better pics than what Topps had. Look forward to CLE. :)
Dan has a ton of knowledge! Great episode gentlemen.
He certainly does.

I learn something new every day in the hobby. Usually from you. 😊
Great episode Mike , I thoroughly enjoyed it. Dan is the Man , glad to have met both of you at Strongsville.
100%.
Some great sets in there! I collect several of them!
This was awesome, guys! See you two wonderful gentlemen at the Big Show! 😊👊
Great conversation with a great guy. Really enjoyed listening to Dan and your thoughts
100% agree Orlando.
Two of the most knowledgeable minds in the hobby. Great talk.
Lol
Well done guys; happy to see Dan on the podcast this week.

Thanks for the info John
Great job guys.
7:30 the sets discussion on sets starts with a good tip.

That is awesome. I should market the show as an anti-insomnia drug. LOL
Fun episode!
Killebrew played 106 games with 14 HR's for the Royals in 75. The SSPC is one of the very few cards of him in a Royals uniform.
Super fun show you two! Much thanks to you both for imparting some amazing baseball card knowledge on my brain! 👍🤓👍

Only weirdos like us would have resentment towards a set of baseball cards…😂😂 f’n Fleer!? 😑😜
enjoy the show and i learn a lot but the lighting is so off It makes everything look very dull. small changes will fix this and say bc i care.
Fair enough. Thanks for the input.
