New to the channel and I'm glad to see all your upgrades and hear your opinions on them.i picked up a 71 elcamino just two weeks ago but still working on a 87 box chevy which is almost ready for the streets. Great post and will be following. 👍😎
Nice update, would be interested if you still have and how it's doing now. Was looking at the 383 and wondering how it does on highway and if it is practical as daily driver type vehicle?
Larry H I was pretty intimidated when I was first diving in to the wiring on this thing. It’s actually pretty simple once you learn how the circuits are wired. I just picked up a good colored wiring schematic, and watched some other RUclips videos.
Thanks for the detail in your video, I have a 70 El Camino and have planned to do many of the things you have done. Your your dash (the main cluster is in really great shape, is that original? I am looking for an original sweep speedo config like you have that is in good shape. Also is that rad overflow tank stock?
@@jazzpup8288 hmm.. I have the same Summit brand ceramic headers on my BPE 383 for two years now myself. They work great and I have had same experience as Peter.... I heard that those Summit brand headers are actually made by Hedman. I screwed up the finish by spraying engine degreaser on while engine was still at operating temp. DONT DO THAT!! I won't do that again, lmao. my own fault for being inpatient....

Looks good
Thanks Peter. Lots of good ideas. Likely to buy the same motor for my 67 Nova SS.
Bad ass el camino!
Nice. I'm always looking for ideas for upgrades on my 1971 Chevelle. Those electrical upgrades sound way above my skill level.

All the dash is original, the car has been garaged it’s entire life.
Jehmtb the over flow isn’t stock. I want to say is from early 80’s GM something. I learned about it from one of the Chevelle forums.
Any problems with the blue print ?
Fucking sick
Oh, don't do the summit headers. Seriously.
Been on the car for 2 years. No leaks, coating still looks good. Well worth the $350 with free shipping.
Wow I put em on my nova and didn't have your experience. Went with headman elites. Killer elcamino!
