I’d recommend before drywall to put some rockwool sound proofing insulation between the bathroom walls so you don’t hear anything in the adjacent rooms. Did it between our jack and jill bedrooms and master bathroom in master suit and cuts down on most sound. Just a thought. Easy to put in the wall as it’s firm and stands up well between joists
You will pass inspection for sure. Everything you did was perfect, the nailers, the headers, jack, king and cripple studs...all done just right. You can't say you don't know how to frame. We have video proof that you do. Even if Ronnie helped, you know how now. Again, thanks for the shoutout. It has made a noticeable difference.
Like you, I can pretty much do all my own framing, wiring, and plumbing, but the one thing I am not a fan of it drywall. That is just not for me. I can hang it, but I hire someone to mud it. It’s really looking great guys, you must be so excited. Thanks again for inviting us over to see the progress. Be well and God bless.
Have you ever heard the term "Bump Fire", You hold the trigger on the nail gun and bump it down where you want the nail driven. You might also get a "Palm Nailer".
It's looking so good. With the completed walls I can begin to see a finished project. It's sure going to be a very nice home. I'm excited to see future videos. Thanks for sharing.
Whenever you guys do insulation, I'd recommend buying a foam gun and sealing up any crack, light box, hole and void. Go above code for the ceiling insulation. R60 is a great idea and won't cost much more. I prefer rockwool and dense pack cellulose over fiberglass in walls, and cellulose is unbeatable for the ceiling considering cost and performance. Tossing up some rockwool between rooms to help absorb some sound helps and also helps if there ever was a fire. Also, remove a stud in each corner and insulate the corner and reinstall the stud. You dont want a void of insulation there forever if you can take 30 minutes and fix them all. You are doing great, and thanks for letting us follow along.
I started to remodel a house and noticed 2x4 walls do not have any insulation. I should start taking down the sheetrock and ordering more materials. Cool video.
@@Robinson-Homestead Yes we are. We were planning to build with aircrete. We haven't announced it on our channel yet, but we are switching to stick built with metal siding. We are not required to follow building codes where we are, so that is super nice.
I didn't catch the part of attaching to the concrete floor. How thick was your concrete. How deep was your pex tubing? What method did you use to attach the boards to the floor in order to avoid piercing the pex tubing?
@@Robinson-Homestead I have 2 high under my king mattress, makes getting in/out of bed easier if you have problems with your back, with lots of floor space.
Why did you add a flush top plate? Makes no sense. At first i thought you was adding a 2x6 top nailing cap but then saw they were flush then you ran a whole other 2x6 that you nailed to them. totally not needed. Not hating its just a waste to do it that way. Unless i missed something about what you were doing.

Scott, we are doing rockwool insulation in the whole house including inside walls.
That's a lot of progress. It's nice to see the inside walls up.

I have the same question as UST Missouri ? Wall attachment to floor without hitting pex tubing?
Aren’t you afraid you would hit the radiant heat flooring pipes?
I sure am that would not be good thank you for the comment and watching.
Is there a cathedral ceiling in the front half?
Instead of tapcon, why not those concrete nails that a nail gun shoots in? Would be much faster?
Thanks for the idea.
No problem on mistakes!!! Just like the rest of us :)
Problems and mistakes we have them all we just work them out.
If you put drawers under the beds (2/3 high) it eliminates dressers/chest furniture & will make the rooms much larger...
Good idea thanks
