Swap tyres on the yt for testing but not the trek… seems a bit unfair, either run them all as standard or put control tyres on them all so you can feel the difference in the bike more easily…
My first modern mtb is a 2023 marin alpine trail xr…. i call it a mini gun, it only wants double black trails it needs steep chonk… my year is dual coils, replaced stock wheels and raced an enduro at ride rock creek for its second ride. Ate it up, upgraded a few things… my mini gun hasn’t failed yet, tore the pisgah enduro up 2 weeks ago 32 miles n 5500 ft of climbing… yeah i wish it didnt weigh 38 pounds but doesn’t flinch when pointed downhill 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Wait for next spring when you can get these entire bikes for 50% off… 😊. Will be racing downhill with it in 2025 and all WNC enduro races yeehawww…
Thanks Anna, that's an interesting point! Thankfully Trek approve the Slash for use with up to a 190mm travel fork, so you could definitely up the travel if required. ~ Will
the whole bike industry is going downhill.. they invented categories like 'enduro' and 'downcountry' to sell more bikes and raise prices.. now trek is slashing enture models and skus... MTBs have broken the $20k mark in canada.. just say no
I'm seeing deals everywhere. Got my norco sight c2 for 3k new this spring which I think was fair compared to the crazy covid pricing. But certainly there's always the crazy 10k+ bikes out there.
@@leebroadley1982it might be a meme but it’s an accurate description of certain bikes. Same with “parkduro” bikes… heavy enduro that are mostly for shuttle and parks
These are "better" than the RM Altitude, Yeti SB160, Ibis HD6, or Transition Spire? The Capra is an easy win in this bunch of 3, it's a great bike and there's a reason why it's the bike of choice for privateer enduro racers, but I can't see the Slash with its troublesome idler or the Marin being basically just a park bike outdoing 4 bikes which are absolute weapons when pointed downhill.
Nowadays the mountain bike size is measured by reach, rather than seat tube length. Seat tubes between frame sizes are sometimes the same length to allow for longer dropper posts. Stand over height could be taken into consideration when choosing a bike for a shorter person. Ideal reach also varies between MTB types. For the same person an ideal XC bike could have a 5-10mm shorter reach than an enduro bike. Most websites have suggested reach for a set of human heights. I am 176cm and I usually go for around 460. The Atherton bikes website has a nice calculator.
More weight is now a feature it seems, my brothers gen 5 trek slash 7 is 16.4kg with pedals in a size XL, the new higher spec gen 6 slash 8 would be about 17.1kg with pedals, modern bikes sure are getting fat.
Specialized enduro is still nuking in 2024. It not landing in the finale shows the bias to push new product not best product. Mega tower though being sale priced is still good. And the criminally underated spartam is still deadly in 2024.
the enduro bikes or tested way to close to trail bikes...It will be different if you put the enduro bikes in their natural habitat to test, for example the mega avalanche...?
What is your favourite enduro bike of 2024?
Speclized Enduro
The trek 😍
YT Capra Uncage 10 baby!!!
RM Altitude, nothing rides smoother.
Alpine trail 2023

Probably should watch the tire section again. He didn't make changes to the YT tires. Swapped out the maxgrip on the Marin.
Perfect timing for the vid. Looking for a new enduro bike

Capra core 4 is GOATED 😉
Hell yeah !!! YT all the way. ❤🔥
The YT had the best wheels IMO.
I've replaced formula hubs, only 2 left to go.
Love me the capra i think a bigger hitting fork would really benefit the trek though

Downcountry was started as a 'meme' by Pinkbike and amazingly it caught on

I was looking at a Superduro. Nukeproof 297 giga
I’ve not bought a bike in years might have to keep an eye out. Not after anything full on 140mm travel would be more than enough for what I do.
I have the capra uncaged 11 🤘🏻 unbeatable spec for the listed retail price of £5699 and I paid £4k for the last one on the uk site! 💪🏻
Could you guys please review the Radon Swoop!
Yeti SB160 not tested?
too expensive
I would ask the same about the RM Altitude. I have one and the thing is an absolute weapon when pointed downhill.
Canyon, yeti, yt, specialized, trek, and commencal all contenders.
Guys there are like 30 common brands.....and you can't fit them all in 1 test
Did you try the santa cruz nomad?
From Indonesia 🎉
damn the new Marin Alpine Trail XR looks damn sexy (i like an enduro with more bikepark ambitions , great)
Then buy propaim spindrift
Fuji auric 💪 because it’s mine and I live on it
Did you test the Rocky Mountain altitude?
You can run a 29er in the Marin

Yea I was wondering where the rim altitude was in this comparison as that would likely be the winner of this group.
The slash is troublesome? I’m pretty sure it’s just a spacer 😂
What the bike size’s. You mentioned reach but what size frame?

which were the other 5 bikes ?
Why you didn’t got there any canyons for example strive which stand high on the ews podium or yeti. Plus pricing on these are terrible Ngl
Canyon frames might not make it through a test 😬
No entry from rocky mountain?

Still rocking a 21 enduro sworks. 3 full race seasons and likely will do a 4th.
Propain way better than any trek
This is pretty funny
"clowncounty" will be the next big thing....
In that specs marins weight 17.3 kg?😮
😊❤😊❤
Transition Spur.
You mean Spire haha. Great bike for hulk smashing through gnar.
@@mrvwbug4423 nope.. I meant the Spur
Transition has horrible build quality
Outside of the Session I could name a dozen bikes better than these, ridiculous title on this video.
End the santa cruz megatower is not in this list come on 😂😂
Non of them, as they all cost the same as a deposit on a house!
Terrible picks

3 bikes???? Unfair and ridiculous test..of course yT...european bias..YP
Crap, crap, and crap😮

@matejblazek5172 The new Stumpy 15, the new Ripmo, the Banshee Prime or the Banshee Titan, and the Pivot Switchblade...
@@lilblaster22 Yeah, all great bikes!
@@lilblaster22 But I am very excited about the new Raaw Madona V3. Or Kavenz VHP 16!!
