    when I'm on a ketogenic, I feel good. Improved mode, less fatigue, and over better quality of life. I also exercise 4-6 days a week. I don't think it effects my MS symptoms, however. I think it's obvious these two diets are beneficial, especially with exercise, but I don't know if i'm convinced its slowing ms progression. I do have an open mind and interested in seeing results.

    That was an excellent interview you did with Dr Terry Walhs. I love how you gave Syracuse a shout out because I'm from Syracuse and have been here my whole life. It's funny because most neurologists in my area blow off diet as far as outcomes for MS , especially since it was in one of our local news stories last year that Syracuse had one of the highest rates of MS. Thanks again for all your hard work Dr Brandon , I appreciate you doing these videos for us every week. Have a grest day.

      @@DrBrandonBeaber I sent corrected Brandon, I forgot that article was from almost 3 years ago. I remember when it came out and the picture of the man getting an infusion is one of our then local weathermen Dave Longley. He still works for the channel but in a different position now. Thank you for refreshing my mind sir. One more thing about that article I can't understand is if we're tops as far as MS goes what hell is being done about it? I do remember that article was big news for a few weeks and that I heard nothing since. My last question is what does one have to do to get either you or Aaron boster here to Upstate New York to do a talk about MS? Have a great rest of your day my friend.

    I’ve followed her and her protocol for well over a decade. The one ((BIG)) point to ask Terry regarding her protocol eliminating eggs: she’s not saying all eggs are the same… correct? BIG difference between factory / industrial raised chickens/ eggs VS. farm raised chicken on pasture. This is my biggest criticism of her: as eggs has saved my health on three continents. Someone ask her to specify, please!!!

    • @trose88
      @trose88 4 месяца назад +1

      She was required to publish the diet exactly as she followed it and she personally has an egg allergy so she did not consume any eggs and she feels eggs can be a common allergen so she advised people avoid them but if you don't have an allergy eggs are an excellent food.

    I would consider enrolling if an RRMS diagnosis were to be confirmed. Until it is, I am learning eagerly about how to heal at the cellular level, support my mitochondria, improve my gut microbiome, reduce inflammation, raise vitamin levels where they are insufficient, and improve symptoms like fatigue, cognitive fog, and spasticity. I hope to reduce any comorbidities so that if MS is my fate, I can move into it with as much strength and resolve as possible. Currently have lost 33 pounds since November to improve my health, with about 15 to go to be at a healthy weight.
    I also find the evolving data around Long COVID and neurological implications to be in this same lane, so I believe your studies and the data will be useful in several venues. I applaud you both for your commitment to help people fight for their health. You are making such a difference and we are listening!

    Excellent video as always, Dr. Beaber! Can’t thank you enough for continuing to invest your time and effort into making such great content. It’s great to see you interview Dr. Wahls as well, I’m hopeful that her study does reveal at least some kinds of insights into dietary impact on MS, even if diet isn’t ultimately a silver bullet.

  • @emilye709

    The inclusion of dairy and olive oil seems silly to me. I think this will show that her paleo diet is better, because of this. I think it would be better to give keto a better chance by doing a very clean, dairy free, animal based version. As far as I know, there is no solid evidence of sat fat being harmful to heart health. In my own experience and so many others online, the carnivore diet beats all of these diets by a long shot. It is frustrating that no one is looking at the carnivore diet for research.

    I followed a diet called Overcoming MS very stringently for over 5 years. When I started I didn’t need a mobility aid. It will be 6 years in November that I’m still adhering to the diet but I have had significant progression. I now need a rollator to walk. I think the diet helps with fatigue but it certainly did not stop my progression

    • @emilye709
      @emilye709 2 года назад

      Also, you need cholesterol to make myelin BTW. Even Terry Wahls recommends in her book to keep your cholesterol up. Studies actually show that those with the lowest cholesterol live the shortest lifespans. It is really sad how much misinformation there is about diet. Most of what is recommended is not backed by good science. They are made based on the lowest form of evidence that doesn't even prove cause and effect, just correlation. The carnivore diet is all anecdote but once you try it, there is no denying that it is working. You won't need science to tell you that it is healing you.

    • @DrBrandonBeaber

      I think the main reason is relapsing MS is [generally speaking] easier for research because there are clear discrete outcomes to measure such as relapses and new MRI lesions. Many people with progressive MS can worsen or improve significantly but still have an EDSS of 6.0 or 6.5.

    Since it's geographic that's probably related to the vitamin D immune system strength and since fasting and ketosis improves it it probably the improves with leaky gut and fasting reboots the immune system after a few days. Olive oil is not the best fat, it would be saturated and monounsaturated fats. Olive oil is still too high in omega 6. Butter, coconut and ruminant beef fat are the best. Maybe some Palm oils. Cholesterol is good for everyone. She's out of touch with the saturated fat and cholesterol lies.

    The Venn-Diagram of people who have MS or type 1 diabetes in my family is a freegin circle 😂. So idk exactly how so many people in one family have it, if there’s not a genetic component. My vita B levels just wouldn’t come up even on a supplement while on a whole food plant-based diet, despite my MRIs remaining stable. In the end I went back to doing a 75-85% plant based diet, with fish and wild game. If I don’t get the plants in? My stomach is… is a mess.
