- 12 year old Maya just sang and recorded this video. she plays piano, guitar and saxophone. Lewis Richards from 17th street records also did the accompaniment. He then filmed her playing guitar and singingthis song on the Hunnington Beach pier and then edited this video together. Lewis your GREAT!!!! This is my favorite of all her songs I've heard - her sweet, confident stride goes so well with my memories of Linda belting it out. And just as good, too (I can't believe I said that), I've never liked a remake of another song, except Heart at the Kennedy Center, doing, "Stairway to Heaven", since 1960. There's something in the mix - the people all around, the casualness of her just letting her gift shine in the sunshine. Most singers don't enunciate - that's why we find out what the words really are decades later. Not this time, though - there's no lax, nothing sloppy - this is pure, tight, perfection. If this were a record, I'd have worn it out. Beautiful voice. Thank you, bless you.

Fantastic job on this 1960s classic! Maya has a very distinctive voice and singing style -- what a welcome change from all the sound-alikes out nowadays that one can hardly tell apart. I have a feeling that, if the *right* song comes along for Maya as it did for Linda Ronstadt, she will achieve great things in the music business!

Please no offend to Linda. It's nice to see and hear the younger generation can love the music of the 60's. Your parents must be very proud of the way you choose your lifestyle. Please don't do drugs or smoke cigarette. Can you sing the song called, the mummer's dance by loreena Mckormett? Her and I are both Canadian and I love her music and her voice can calm the whole world. I'm all most 60 years old and love music from the 60's to today. I’m reminded of the great Brenda Lee - who used to be nicknamed “The Female Elvis”. She was a young teenager when she cut a slew of hit records, her voice was absolutely incredible and very, very hard to believe it was a young girl singing.

Two days ago, I was texting, and lamenting, to my neighbor (a real hippy from the 60s) how I miss real talent like Linda Ronstadt. She still has the original album Stone Poneys Volume 2. RUclips somehow linked me to you. I found "If I had a Hammer" and commented and thanks for the response. That truly made my day. Then I saw the link to this song and I was so excited to hear it! SWEET JESUS! GURL! You did NOT let me down! You even stopped my roommate in his tracks when he heard it as he was leaving, and he's 21 (I rent rooms out to coeds near campus).!!!!!!

If you haven't seen this girl lately you're missing something special. She has blossomed into a serious talent. Check out her more recent stuff. She writes her own music, plays several instruments and puts out some great stuff. This is probably my favorite song of all time, she does a good cover here. She is a serious artist in her own right, believe me. Let me correct myself. She does a great cover. She doesn't have the instrumentation behind her that Linda had. Very nice vocals. She's very pretty too, shouldn't matter but of course it does.

The original was The Greenbriar Boys , but yes this is the Stone Poneys version
This is so good. Great interpretation of the Michael Nesmith song. He always did it with a country twang, Linda Ronstadt (Stone Poneys) did it with a definite mid-60's feel, but this version has a great modern groove to it.
