In the final video from my weekends Foxing, this time, yet again, I get caught napping by two sneaky, yet unaware approaching Foxes.
I'm now adapting my Manbily ball mount clamp to fit the ARCA Picatinny quick release mount, to enable a faster removal of the rifle and switch firing positions from the Tripod to the car roof and bipod.

That looked an action packed evening! Only trouble with the long days is it makes it late to bed wen it doesn't get dark till bedtime!! Im baffled how that last fox didnt drop, shot looked perfect 👌

But the shot did look good? Sort of result that makes a zero check advisable.
@markfleming1177 target less than 50 yards away plus the vert strong wind were the factors.

I had a free weekend to get stuff done, and the farmers were busy cutting so I thought it would be worth a try. They’ve cut the big valley field tonight, so I’ll give that a visit after I’ve cooked the dinner for the family

@@predatorprotectionuk if i got out in a pick up I have my “chocolate trifle” sat on a bipod on the roof, I have my tripod on the back of the truck with the jaws of the clamp open and put a sandbag in it so I can quickly drop the “chocolate trifle” in it. No need to clamp the “CT” for close range, makes it quick and virtually silent to change position.
hi mate could i ask a question i notice your using the alpex 4k and im seriously thinking about getting one, do i need an external illuminator or would the scope alone be fine as im only shooting 30-40 yards with it? also when imputing the ballistic data it has me stumped on the scope height. do i measure the top to the barrel or?

First one, measure from the centre of the scope to the centre of the barrel, the lower the better.

I would get one, because I bet you’ll get a night where it’s just black and very hard to see anything. I’ve got some Alpex 4k LRF footage coming up from Jethrow in Cornwall. He’s out Foxing with a torch and has been a busy boy.

What happens on The 21st of June mate? The nights get shorter I’m guessing
June 21 is the longest day, so from then on the days get shorter and the nights longer.

Indeed it is and from now on, the transfer from clamp to car roof and bipod will take 2 seconds !
I’ve just adapted it to fit the ARCA mount the carbon tripod comes with, so my original clamp now fits via a picatinny rail on the bottom of it 👍🛠️ sorted
How do you rate the new manbily tripod? I had the green set, i didn't like them at all.

Listen, I will not review kit that I wouldn’t buy myself, there little point in bigging something up if it’s crap.
The two tripods I was sent have both been miles better that my three times more expensive Rekon Tripod.
You may have had a dud 🤷🏼♂️
I would write to them and discuss the problem with them, I’d expect your problem would be attended to.

Have a look at the Manbily MC -284. It's basically the carbon version.
I don't think that was a real fox you videoed there, I think it was a 'ghost of one, I mean what other reason could it be for that to be a miss? 😀

Hello, and thanks for having a look at my videos.
Just so you know, I’m not paid by any scope company, so I’ve got the scopes I use because I think they are the best on the civilian market at the moment.
I had a Mk1 Stellar for 2 years and did a lot of testing for HIKMICRO on the design and functionality of the scopes.
I sold my Mk1 to the chap who won the wild boar weekend, and put the money towards a new Mk2 Stellar.
I think they’re almost at the point where it’s the best it can be, but I’m having conversations with the tech team about a few things that need tweaking.
I’m confident that they will get it right soon, and then it will be perfect.
I do my own night vision and thermal demo nights for folks to come and test kit out for themselves without any sales pitch, so email me if that’s something you would like to see 👍
So, is it worth upgrading?
